You read that correctly. Nearly 1/3 of our population has give up looking for work and are unreported and mostly ignored by CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, and even Fox News.
I have been directly affected by this. I will be starting a new internship in may, and my group will be moved to a new office. Instead of being happy and celebrating, everyone is somber because the space we will be getting was formerly occupied by 100 people recently laid off to cut costs.
I will get my own desk and computer equipped with a view from the hill of the town because of a growing number of victims of Obama's Economy.
The unemployment rate drops to 8.2% for one simple reason: the number of people not in the labor force is back to all time highs:

+6It's time the oboma state media started telling the truth the real unemployment rate is close to 17%. they are only counting the ones collecting. How about the ones who are no longer collecting and the under employed only working part time? When will they start telling the TRUTH about how this guy is destroying our country?
Yes, things are bad in Amercia. However, they are worse here in the United States. The literacy problem is really nasty. There are billions of unemployed proofreaders roaming the streets having babies out of wedlock. This is an outrage and must stop at once!
That chart sure looks identical to the total growth in population in the US.

33k are included in the "not in labor force" statistic.
This leaves 54k who could be anyone between 16 and 64.
Even if it were 54k "not in labor force" instead of 87k, it's STILL disturbing news, and certainly nothing worth touting as a recovery.
At Bush's worst (6% unemployment), it was around 70k counted as "not in labor force".
Why would anyone try to cover up the results of 30 years of a failed economic policy that looted America's middle class of $17Trillion and made a new class of Aristocrats that control the economy, Wall Street, and Reagan Banks, and have
the international banking system on the verge of total collapse? Why do you, or anyone, feel it necessary to bring up these matters and allege that somehow Barack Obama brought about the economic problems we face as a result? Don't we have enough to think about in seeking recovery to waste effort covering up the origins of these disasters?
Have you ever watched a cat trying to cover up a pile of droppings on the sidewalk? Some things just can't be hidden, no matter how much effort is given to the attempt.
That puts a hole in your theory.
There wasn't 30 years failure it was more like 11 going on 12. In no way am I saying I supported Bush. In fact, I was as against him as I am Obama. That doesn't change the fact that in the last 3 years Obama has added more regulation and more debt than any president has while in office.
There's no need to cover up anything. Including how 8.2% is a complete and total lie.
