Unemployment Looming at 8.2% Under Obama

Unemployment Looms at 8.2 Percent, the Economy Putters, and Obama Says, ‘We Tried Our Plan – and It Worked’

Discussing his economic policies at a fundraiser in Oakland,
California, Monday night, President Obama, told supporters that “we
tried our plan — and it worked.”

“We tried that and it didn’t work,” Obama said of Mitt Romney’s
proposed tax cuts and spending cuts, which he dismissed as a Bush-style
“top down” economic policy. “Just like we’ve tried their plan, we tried
our plan — and it worked,” he added later in the speech. “That’s the
difference. That’s the choice in this election. That’s why I’m running
for a second term.”

Obama made these comments in Oakland, where the unemployment rate was
13.7 percent in May 2012. The national unemployment rate is 8.2 percent
— up from 8.1 percent in May — for the second straight month.

To prove that his economic plans have “worked,” Obama cited the auto
industry bailouts. “I refused to turn my back on a great industry and
American workers,” he said. “Three years later, the American auto
industry has come roaring back.”

Obama’s auto bailouts aren’t the unalloyed success he describes.
“President Obama’s auto task force pressed General Motors and Chrysler
to close scores of dealerships without adequately considering the jobs
that would be lost or having a firm idea of the cost savings that would
be achieved, an audit of the process has concluded,” The New York Times
reported in 2010, based on an audit. “The report … estimated that tens
of thousands of jobs were lost as a result.”

I'll tell Pinocchio what worked.... Bush in the White House and Republicans in control of the House AND the Senate!

The last time the Republicans had the WH, Senate and House:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 (WITHOUT tax payers paying for a Fed Pump)
    Average Gas Price $2.18
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
    The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

At the end of the Democraps stranglehold on the WH, Senate and House in January 2011:
    Unemployment was 9.0%
GDP for the previous quarter was 2.3% (next quarter was 1.75%)
The DOW: 11,670.8 (With BILLIONS in printed money from the FED)
    Average Gas price $3.20
Obama's economic policies lead to 24+ STRAIGHT MONTHS of unemployment ABOVE 8%!
    (NOW it's 41 straight months!)

Liberals and facts don't really get along.

As soon as Obama (Jimmy Carter II) gets landslided out in November...

IT'S MORNING IN AMERICA ONCE AGAIN!!!!

it takes a carter to get a reagan

Very illuminating, but not quite complete. The "great auto comeback" he speaks of does, indeed, leave out the fact of multiple closures of dealerships. What has been omitted in that little statistic is the extremely high number of Republican owners of these closed-down dealerships. Coincidence? Number one.

Number two, "We tried our plan -- and it worked" is precisely true and on point. Problem is, he is not telling the American voters exactly what "our plan" is, and that is the conversion of America into the nanny state with huge government, government which can march into private businesses and shut them down or force them into bankruptcy and then override the bankruptcy codes and literally steal money from the stockholders of that company in favor of paying off political favors. And the sonofabitch has gotten away with it with basically only a whimper from a few already seriously maligned protestors. I am not an expert in the legal field, not even a decent amateur for that matter, but seems to me somebody should have done something about that a long, long time ago. I realize they'd be tripping over Eric "The Protector" Holder to do it, so maybe that's why they didn't bother. Yes?

And, finally, that joke number of 8.2%? When are people going to stop quoting that as if it were written in concrete and correct. The unemployment rate in this country is actually somewhere along the lines of 12%. Ungodly number, yes?

Oh, okay, this is "finally." How proud are we to now be able to announce that 46% of Americans are receiving government "assistance" -- welfare. Isn't that peachy? And how so very proud should we be that our dear, compassionate president is spending, spending, spending money we don't have but, more importantly, spending those precious funds on advertisements that encourage more Americans to sign up for welfare. Hello? Even Bill Clinton, who actually began the tearing down of welfare, saw the folly of this kind of thinking.

We've got only a few months left, people. Get out there with your Knowledge Bats and start banging some heads and beating sense into them. If Obama gets reelected, this country is going to be no more. God help us all. We cannot allow that to happen, period.

So he saved a couple jobs with a bailout...he could have given each worker a million dollars and would have had a better end result. That's what he calls a successful program? yikes. They haven't paid all the money back either.
