UN Votes In Favor Of Resolution Supporting Socialized Healthcare, Obama Backs Proposal

~ The Rebel ~ 2012/12/13 17:11:31

The United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of a draft resolution supporting universal health coverage, signaling the importance of universal healthcare to the international development agenda.

The resolution, which is backed by the United States, encourages governments to come up with systems that avoid direct payments at the point of delivery, include a way to prepay for financial contributions toward health care and a mechanism to pool risks among the population in order to avoid catastrophic expenses. Essentially, this amounts to a system where health insurance is either attainable and affordable for all, or the federal government picks up the tab for health care costs.

It would be great if people first decided to take better care of themselves. I'm fine for paying for a heart transplant for a factory worker who provides for a family with my taxes if he's worked his entire life. I am NOT in favor of having may tax dollars paying for an alcoholic who is obese and chooses not to work getting a liver transplant.

I don't support universal health of any kind, period. It is unaffordable due the inevitable abuse and waste.

There may come a day when technology allows this to be a possibility, but that is far off into the future.

I know. It was meant as a rhetorical question. Anything the UN proposes gets paid for by the US tax payer.
I really think the UN has become nothing more than a vehicle, used by the rest of the world, to pick our pockets.
