No one saw this coming. The UN has chosen Iran, of all countries, to help negotiate an arms treaty with the rest of the world. Is it a crazy idea -- or does it kind of make sense?

FOXNEWS.COM reports:
Barely a week after accusing Iran of supplying arms for Syria's bloody crackdown on democracy-minded rebels, the UN has given Tehran a key seat at negotiations for a global arms treaty.

Makes perfect sense for the U.N.

Remember they are an organization that has made Libya the head of the human rights committee, has presided over every major genocide in the last 50 years and despite worldwide blooshed they reserve their worst outrage for Israel.

The U.N. is a symbol of everything that is depraved with left-wing geopolitics.

With the Un, the little countries are over represented. Not that it really matters. The little countries actually have a massive economic advantage, and have many larger allies. That isn't actually a concern or a problem.

Fatwa Bans Christian Priests from Public Transportation to Church

Dr. Yassir al-Burhami, a prominent figure in Egypt’s Salafi movement and vice president of the Salafi Call—the same sheikh who seeks to punish Muslim apostates, condemns Mother’s Day, and advocates deceiving Israel—has just issued a fatwa, published in the “Voice of the Righteous Salaf,” forbidding Muslim taxi-drivers and bus-drivers from transporting Coptic priests to their churches, which he depicted as “more forbidden than taking someone to a liquor bar.”

This analogy, of course, does not begin with Sheikh Burhami, but traces back to some of Islam’s early giants, including Ibn Taymiyya and Ibn Qayyim, who agreed that “building churches is worse than building bars and brothels, for those [churches] symbolize infidelity, whereas these [bars and brothels] represent immorality.

    WRONG!!

Had only so-damn-insane (sadam hussien) listened to the UN and not played games, Clinton would not have bombed their WMD's on the very day he was to TESTIFY TO A GRAND JURY.

Clinton would have never instituted REGIME CHANGE as official US Policy towards Iraq, a Policy followed by Bush, typical of Presidents to do so, just like Obama today.

    Not Americas fault DEFINED.

sadam hussein was the biggest culprit - what a fool-,

but do not dismiss the fact that when the un inspectors proclaimed no wmd's in iraq, bush and cheney when on their own against it. when france did not support the war, people here wanted to change 'french fries' to freedom fries, lol, but very sad.....;-[

You mean the UN arms inspectors who let Saddam dictate to them what buildings they could search and when?

Oops! There WERE WMD's. (Try to keep up, please)
    http://www.nypost.com/p/news/...
What about the soldiers in Iraq with depleted uranium contamination? Even the leftist media reported that until they realized that it hurt their "no WMD" mantra. http://www.democracynow.org/2...

Don't forget, we gave Saddam MONTHS of warnings before we came. Plenty of time to tidy up.
  • marianne fuzzy K... 2012/07/14 22:15:01
    marianne
yes saddam had indeed used chemical weapons previously, your nupost article said 'small amounts of chemical weapons found' no true wmd's.

then the second post, did you read it.... they said

;'Depleted Uranium is considered to be the most effective anti-tank weapon ever devised. It is made from nuclear waste left over from the making nuclear weapons and fuel. The public first became aware the US military was using DU weapons during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. But it had been used as far back as the 1973 Yom Kippur war in Israel.'

waste product. not an actual wmd...

based on this criteria, usa should be attacking so many other countries as well.....;-]

    my points are;
, the rhetoric ;' we do not negotiate with terrorists' -
has not worked in the past, and will not so in the future..

the more we know about our 'potential' enemies, the better off we would be.

it hurts , but attacking iraq was a bad idea.

Silence of Egypt's President Speaks Volumes
Here's a different angle on Egypt's new Muslim Brotherhood president: it's not so much what Muhammad Morsi has said, but what he hasn't said. Considering all the anti-infidel talk emanating from those around him -- whether calls to destroy Egypt's pagan pyramids, calls to wage an all-out jihad against Israel, or calls to reimpose jizya on Egypt's Christian Copts -- not only has Morsi not condemned such talk, he hasn't even tried to distance himself from it. Such silence speaks for itself.

Saddam was FAR MORE than a pompous ass.* He funded terrorist acts which killed many innocent people. He was also a threat to the region.
In the end though. Just ask his neighbors Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

    * If being a pompous ass was cause enough to invade we would have attacked Washington DC as well.

I'm all for leaving the UN and recinding any special status granted for the land. If they wish to stay after that so be it. Rockefeller bought it and gave it to them.

As for defense...can't defend something when you're thousands of miles away...or broke.
