On June 27, Barack Obama will sign the UN Arms Trade Treaty. That treaty commits its signers to register all firearms. And that means all of them, including those used for recreation.
The Second Amendment says: "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
So if Obama signs this treaty, he's going against the Constitution. And against a basic part of the Constitution.
So what say you? If Obama signs that treaty, is he guilty of treason?

Yes+19The President swears to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution. Giving up our sovereignty is an aid and comfort to the enemy. And using this new treaty to take our guns away is an act of war against the people. Those are the definitions of treason.

Others think that we should.
"Over the last 10 years law-abiding citizens have been stripped of their right to own some or all types of firearms in Australia, Canada, Great Britain and New Zealand among others. New regional and international agreements have been made by governments of various countries in which civilian possession and sales of other types of firearms are to be restricted, registered, or completely prohibited."
This was all accomplished by? "Progressives".
They did it by way of "international agreements"
What are we facing now? "international agreements"
I don't want to see Americans take up arms, I just want to see them vote Progressives out of office instead.
Only if the government does. Take Obamacare for instance, The Court admitted that the measure was unconstitutional, and the liberal with the help of one turncoat, made it a Tax which saved the unconstitutional Obamacare barnicial. However, the Constitution states in Article 1; Section 7; "All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives;"
Therefore, Roberts supported a crime because the Supreme Court cannot pass Bills for raising Revenue, which includes taxes of any kind. He oversteped his bounds, and did the liberals a service by further weaking the Constitution. And while we are at it, consider Article 4; "Section 4. The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"
Obama, of late, AND the Congress, for decades now, is a epic fail in this article and section.
And I dispute your claim about Obama expanding gun rights.
greater income inequality and a strangling of the middle class.
where did me or anyone ever say that all incomes should be equal?
straw man are weak opponents... but i guess you already knew that eh?
Just a suggestion concerning a fantasy day that will never come.
This is entirely a back door maneuver. By signing this treaty, it will forbid businesses and citizens to sell guns over seas. People don't realize that it is the Government that sells arms to other nations. This includes hand guns, rifles and machine guns. Our Government buys them from private companies. Once they do this, the Government is responsible for them, not the citizens.
With this treaty, it will be left to every nation, including the United States to develop a national registry for fire arms. What Obama and Hillary Clinton are out to do, is round up every gun on paper so that the Federal Government knows of every gun you own. There for, when the times comes, the Government will say, hand em over. Be careful folks. This treaty in it self is not to take away your guns tomorrow, but it is clearly the foot work to do it in the future.
makes me wonder sometimes...
no body is coming for your guns (or your back door) .... you can relax
The right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed in the Constitution. In 1957 the Supreme court decision in Reid vs Covert established that the Constitution supersedes any International treaty, even one ratified by a two thirds majority in the Senate.
There is no "legal way around the second amendment" other than a new amendment to the Constitution or a new Supreme ct. decision that radically reinterprets how the second amendment is applied.
I love it when you tea party types keep bragging about how you know more about the many complexities and nuances of our Constitution than our Constitutional scholar/professor president and five Supreme court justices...you guys kill me. I bet you probably carry around a pocket sized version like Larry the Cable guy.
And the Moon is made of green cheese.
