The UN Arms Trade Treaty crashed and burned today. The US delegation backed out at the last minute. They said they needed more time to study the draft. The Russian, Indonesian, and Indian delegations said the same.

Here's the real skinny: Obama knew he'd never get that treaty ratified. Even if Harry Reid held it up until after the election, the Senate would never vote the right way. And if the Senate had this hot potato on its plate, next year's Senate would be an entirely different Senate.

And Obama didn't want to risk that.

So what do you think?

Yes, it is a good thing the treaty crashed and burned; and yes more than one country pulled out (notice Russia on that one! they aren't that stupid either.), but NO, 0bama was willing to take any risk and override it with an Executive Order. Right now he is back-peddling because of that move and not because he didn't want to risk it. Next year's Senate WILL be a totally different Senate whether 0vomit likes it or not, and he already knows his chances of winning in the election are slim to none, so he is doing some much different thinking on how to stay in power.
He "thought" he had this one in the bag, but he is not good at figuring out unintended consequences. Hence my reason for saying the following: 0vomit is willing to risk "anything" to stay in power. He is that narcissistic and that dangerous. Make no mistake about it. He will NOT go quietly into the night over a silly election - watch and see. He WILL risk "anything".

Agreed. IF he gets a second term we are pretty much screwed as a nation. I have gotten 2 of my friends to register to vote and will pick them up to go in Nov. that and vote myself is all I can do, and pray it is enough.

I REALLY believe we will win the day in Nov.

I have always wanted to do jury duty and they have never even called me in a LA case. They did call me in a federal case and I filled out the form and sent it in and recieved an lovely letter telling me "oops, our bad....as it turns out we dont need you after all". I was so sad. Most people think I am crazy, but it would feel like I was doing my duty. Like it did when I was military...

Most of my friends have never been called. Unless you live in a pretty small place it is statistically unlikely he will be called and actually have to serve.

All he has to do is write a letter to the judge and say he has too much financial hardship to take off work to vote. I did it and they excused me from jury duty. Also write in a very illiterate way.

I have decided though and I know it is just being pushed back until a diversion can be cooked up and then it will be ratified. Get your things in order while you can and buy, buy, buy all the ammunition you can WHILE you can. If you don't have a gun to use NOW, GET ONE. I know, you will be put in a national database when you buy one but just remember. Hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS have already and they can't get to all of those who have taken the steps to protect their families. And I am sure that this post is being monitored by the feds as well. Call me paranoid, that's OK. I think the same thing.

With the government doing all these unconstitutional acts and the NDAA and Patriot Acts taking away our liberties, I am sure our internet keystrokes are stored someplace for future reference. It's not paranoid at all. And there is training for the military for actions they'd take in a martial law situation. It includes kicking in doors and confiscating guns, I'm sure. I think the UN arms thing was to gauge how the American public would react and they now know that there will be loss of life if anyone tries it.

In years past I would have bet my life that our own troops or even law enforcement would never kick in doors en masse for any reason, but with the fear of terrorism that the government and media has put into the public, we have been giving away our constitutional rights and civil liberties gladly.

Nobody said it was proof of Obama's being foreign. You're mixed up.

This just further evidences his committment to global Progressive tactics, which includes keeping the populace unable to resist the Borg. What Borg, you ask?

The stinking Progessive, Trance-out, subservient Borg .... like you!

did you not read the headline?
