The full name of the Rio Summit was “United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.” The UN Agenda 21 planners will hold another such conference.
They gave it the short title of “Rio+20,” because they are holding it
twenty years after the first Summit, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Center for a Constructive Tomorrow got the leak
of the draft agenda for Rio+20. This agenda has its own nice-sounding
title: “The Future We Want.” The leak runs to 288 pages and has
“markups” by the many “non-governmental organizations” (NGOs) that take
part in planning UN Agenda 21.
Two days ago, CFACT spotted the most alarming part of the agenda. Paragraph 71(3) calls for the UN to levy a global tax
on all energy from “non-renewable” fuels. CFACT figures that a typical
American family of four would pay $1325 a year in taxes on all the
energy they use. That would include motor fuel, electricity (from
non-”green” fuels), heating oil, and natural gas for heating or cooking.
(See also this report in The Washington Examiner.) The UN Agenda 21 planners want to rake in 0.7 percent of the world’s Gross National Product by 2015.
The UN has sought a global tax before. At the Seventeenth Conference of Parties last December, the UN talked
of a tax on “foreign currency transactions.” Naturally, the US would
pay most of this tax, because transactions in euros, between and among
countries using them, would be exempt.
And that's not all that's in the works for the Rio Summit, Twenty Years Later. To find out more, follow the link below.
Question of the day: is a global tax to finance renewable energy fair or foul?

Foul. Who do those guys at the UN think they are?+18This was never about the environment. It was and is all about control. Once the UN gets the power to tax, it is on its way to becoming a one-world government. This first tax is ostensibly for developing "renewable energy." But next will come a general income tax to finance a police force. "Amalgamated Regional Militia", perhaps? Or "Gendarmerie internationale" or "Sureté international"? Wait a minute--we already have that. It's called INTERPOL!
And after that: the United Nations Armed Services. Imagine the UN letting out a contract to build a new class of fighting ships...
That is the real goal. Agenda 21 is only the first step.

Unfortunately, the US has already been implementing much of Agenda 21 for years. The EPA, HUD and DOT are all incorporating it, the Wildlands Project, turning over our national parks to the UN, cities, towns and townships enacting zoning laws in accordance with Agenda 21, schools are injecting it into the lessons taught...
The US needs to withdraw from the UN and all existing agreements and treaties with them. We do not need global governance, nor do we need people in other countries telling us what we can and cannot do here.
You are exactly right, Temlakos. It was never and is not now about the environment, but about control.
If the results of the twentieth century's embrace of centralized power in many parts of the world have taught us anything, it should be that our God given human spirit is designed for us to be unique and individual and ........ free!
There has been no society built on Communism that has resulted in healthy, prosperous and happy people. Humans reject subjugation and submission. Communist, atheist societies breed misery and destruction.
Hard to believe anyone (even the extreme left) can find any benefit in pumping money into the least accountable organization on the face of the earth.
This is a golden opportunity for the POTUS to step in and say: "If the UN adopts a tax, we quit. Global government ends, and get the hell out of New York."
The Progressive / Liberal / Socialist / communist / will attempt to pass this after the election when they have nothing to lose.

The Law of the Sea treaty will sink America's economy
Under the guise of being for “the good of mankind, ” LOST would obligate the United States to share information and technology in what amounts to global taxes and technology transfer requirements that are really nothing more than an attempt to redistribute U.S. wealth to the Third World.
At the center of these taxes and transfers is the International Seabed Authority (ISA), a Kingston, Jamaica based supra-national governing body established by the treaty for the purpose of redistributing cash and technology from the “developed world” to the “developing world.”
