UFO? Meteorite? Mork from Ork? What landed in Namibia? Early Christmas presents accidentally dropped by Santa Claus? Nobody seems to know -- or at least nobody has said it publicly.
I don't think alien life has visited Earth. I don't believe in Area 51 conspiracy theories. I don't humans in our lifetime will ever have contact with intelligent life from other planets... but this has people puzzled. It doesn't look "organic" or "natural" (if one can use those words about outer space).
Maybe some Earthlings made this 'space ball' and it didn't really come from space.
Scientists said they've seen other space balls hit Earth over the past twenty years. This particular ball landed in Namibia in November, but scientists tested it before announcing it publicly. That rules out the Santa Claus dropped gift theory.
The space ball 'poses no danger' according to the scientists. They say it has a hard shell of an unknown alloy but an empty inside.

A large metallic ball fell out of the sky on a remote grassland in Namibia, prompting baffled authorities to contact NASA and the European space agency.
Locals had heard several small explosions a few days beforehand, he said.
With a diameter of 35 centimetres (14 inches), the ball has a rough surface and appears to consist of "two halves welded together".
It was made of a "metal alloy known to man" and weighed six kilogrammes (13 pounds), said Ludik.
