A democracy cannot function without a
well-informed citizenry. But as more and more of the dealings of the
powers-that-be are conducted in secret, far outside the reach of the people,
it’s getting harder to pretend there is much left here that can truly be called
a democracy.



Fortunately, there are some brave souls out
there, as there were in revolutionary times, who defy their masters, risking
all, in the pursuit of truth, justice, and the American way.



One of these brave souls leaked a document,
that was not supposed to see the light of day, which exposes a grand scheme to
essentially sell off large portions of this country’s property, rights and
resources for the express purpose of increasing the profits of the corporations
who are essentially writing the agreement.



I am speaking of the Trans-Pacific Partnership
(TPP), a “trade agreement,” that essentially hands over the keys to our country
to a number of foreign and multinational corporations entitling them to
basically do whatever they want.



In essence, after two years of closed-door
sessions, this is what the agreement aims to achieve:



1. severely limit the regulation of foreign corporations
operating within U.S.
boundaries, enough to give them greater rights than domestic firms,



2. extend incentives for U.S. firms to move
investments and jobs to lower-wage countries,



3. establish an alternative legal system that gives
foreign corporations and investors new rights that can circumvent U.S. courts and
laws, and



4. allow these foreign companies to sue U.S. taxpayers
before foreign tribunals to demand compensation for lost revenue due to US laws
they claim undermine their TPP privileges or their investment “expectations.”



Why in the world would we do this, you ask?

    First, we are not a “democracy!” This “democracy” illusion is a manifestation of our government controlled educational system dummying down its citizens. This cancer of illiteracy has metastasized throughout the population resulting in a system of government that is not the government of our founding Fathers had established under the Constitution of 1787, the ends of which our government must operate within.

    On this US celebrated day of July Fourth, let us not forget what one of our founding Fathers once said in the Declaration of Independence. “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…”

    Our elected representatives and the bureaucrats they appoint and hire are not working for us or our Republic. For years they have been working towards a Global Democracy with all powers invested in the UN.



    I just read a State Department memo from 1961 which called for the abolition of all weapons except those agreed upon globally to be allowed to each nation for the purpose of internal control and the UN Peace Keeping Force to be the only true military in the world. The UN has given Iran a key role in the Small Arms Treaty talks. They put a US state before countries with very dismal human rights histories to be judged for human rights violations because of their immigration policy, at the insistence of our own State Department.



    With each new international treaty or agreement we enter into we lose more of our national sovereignty and ultimately our personal rights. Even Agenda 21, though it is not binding, is systematically being implemented in this country, and has been for years.



    NAFTA, TPP, Agenda 21, LOST, DICED, FTZs, ATT, PTT...the list goes on and on of treaties or agreements that are either existing, proposed or currently under consideration. The fact is that they all serve to cede US sovereignty and redistribute wealth and power.

    The Law of the Sea Treaty calls for technology transfers and wealth transfers from developed to undeveloped nations. It also requires parties to the treaty to adopt regulations and laws to control pollution of the marine environment. Such provisions were among the reasons President Ronald Reagan rejected the treaty in 1982. As Edwin Meese, U.S. Attorney General under President Reagan, explained recently, "...it was out of step with the concepts of economic liberty and free enterprise that Ronald Reagan was to inspire throughout the world."

    In additional to the economic provisions, the treaty also establishes specific jurisdictional limits on the ocean area that countries may claim, including a 12-mile territorial sea limit and a 200-mile exclusive economic zone limit.

    Some proponents of the treaty believe that the treaty will establish a system of property rights for mineral extraction in deep sea beds, making the investment in such ventures more attractive.

    Notwithstanding concerns raised about the Law of the Sea Treaty - and there have been many - the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee recommended U.S. accession to the treaty in a unanimous vote in March 2004.

    Agenda 21 and the International Monetary Fund’s lending garbage make me sick.

    I can't rule out any single one as not being a part of the whole.

    I totally agree. It is a wet dream for the corporatists. It will mean more off-shoring of US jobs and a far more rapid dismantling of the US Middle Class. The whole point of it is to concentrate the wealth of nations in the hands of an elite few who are already fabulously wealthy. Looks like they want it all, the Koch Brothers, Waltons and a few mega-corporations.

    Then why the Bush bailouts? They have been gaining more status since the S&L loan scandals under Reagan, and are now back creating another Wall St. bubble which will burst and what we can't recover from because of more global involvement.

    I don’t know on this one. The devil is in the details. I do know that Obama big government regulations are killing jobs and forcing jobs overseas.

    Also one actually has to have the knowledge to realize the actual impact and Obama doesn’t have any business people in his government.

    If Obama was smart he would go to the US Chamber of Commerce and ask for help. But he is at war with them.

    I think it's time that the American people have a course in labor history. This country was built by the rich business owners exploiting others. We stole the land from the Indians. The poor from the British Islands were sent here as slaves, the Indians were made slaves and blacks were made slaves. Although at the time of the Civil war the north didn't have slaves the workers' lifes were very hard. 15-16 hours per day children were locked in factories to help feed their families. The corporations poisoned our water, our land and our air. They sold us products that were unsafe. People got tired at the turn of the 20th century and for 60 years things were better. Then the republicans didn't want to see people do well. So they gave us the propaganda that unions were bad and right to work was good. So they moved the jobs south and west. Soon the cost was still to much so they hired the illegal and then started moving things to other countries where the wages were slave labor and there was no regulations on how they poluted the water and air. Right now we are so desperate for jobs that we are willing to sell our souls for jobs. My guess is that these foreign companies are just our own with different names to protect the guilty. They get their way they can further distroy our country and have slave labor. Read the Jungle again and Fast food nation and Nicholed and Dimed. Wake up America

    Congress is not allowed to see the drafts on this treaty . Law of the Sea , Trans-Pacific Treaty , Nafta , Agenda 21 We are being sold out completely on treaty and trade agreement at a time.

    yes that is funny but, you cannot blame the current congress for what the previous 1 did. However, you can lay a large portion of the problems going on right now at the feet of the present senate. please remember that the congress that put obama care in place was dominated by a liberal democrat body. That the senate that exist now also holes blame for that same thing. And that menagerie of men and women sitting on what used to be the supreme court look more and more like the nazi judges of nazi germany. So the next time you take it upon yourself to insult baboons just remember what I told you this day . I expect a written apology to baboons worldwide.

    Citizens were given no vote on acceptance of this ruling, nor was the origin from the House of Representatives as required by our Constitution, but instead oringated from the Senate. Now, citizens are also subject to a fine if they don't have health care insurance and they will still be obligated to obtain it while being perpetually fined up until they do so. The only way to eliminate "Obama Care" is through repeal via a newly elected President, other than Obama.

    However, this doesn't resolve what Chief Justice Roberts established as a precedence and this is the real "whammy" to this nation.

    Robert's precedence is that regardless of whatever administration is in there, the anarchists just got a free gift and you have continual division of everything including people and country, because it will not depend upon the Constitituion, Rule of Law and Equality under the Law, but upon whose party gets in at any time.

    You can be taxed on not having something; let's say, you didn't buy a yacht this year and by virtue of this precedence, you can be taxed and fined. The only way to...

    What this does is illustrate the difference between a Republic and a pure Democracy. Where under a Republic, everybody has certain unalienable rights with the rest being voted upon. Under a pure Democracy, it will depend upon the party in power. In other words, a pure Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting upon what's for lunch.

    Remember what Benjamin Franklin responded to a woman's inquiry, when exiting a Constitutional Convention, She asked "Sir, what have you given us?" and Franklin stated, "A Republic Ma'am, if you can keep it." Consequently, as a result of Chief Justice Roberts' precedence, we now have a Democracy.

    So since Prarie has blocked me I'll answer here. Yes did have a vote through our Congress. That is how a republic works. We have never had a vote on the Supreme Court in any of their decisions.

However, you said one item. “Where under a Republic, everybody has certain inalienable rights with the rest being voted upon.” According to Takac in his book “Scientific Proof of Our Unalienable Rights, a Road to Utopia,” we only have Unalienable Rights any manmade rights are simply entitlements.

    As for what our Nation morphed into, depends who you ask. Nevertheless, it is clear we are not the Nation our founding Fathers designed.
