Lots of "tragedies" have happened in America, from the Aurora Incident to the latest police-blotter statistics in Chicago (or any other American city).
Do you think that maybe, just maybe, God is trying to tell us something?
About, maybe, 154 million abortions every year?
About a moral slide that has gone on for a century?
About a national leader who holds himself accountable to no one but himself?
What do you think?

Agree. "Tragedy" on this scale is Divine judgement.+6Ask yourselves: can we coarsen the national psyche with abortion and expect *no* consequence from that? Mightn't abortion make bad behavior more likely? After all, if a society doesn't care about the unborn, why shouldn't you get more people who don't care about anyone but themselves? And who will kill anyone who gets in their way?

Any person who buys guns, owns or manages several businesses, and one of them is None Of Your.
So what really happens is: Two guys walk in, thinking to score some money, or illicit liquor. Only every man present has a gun.
They skedaddle, saying, "Is this town crazy, or WHAT?"
I don't know what liberal university you went to but whether the Bible is a collection of stories from other cultures or not, just proves to me that religion is a worldwide phenomenon with all cultures believing in a god. Yes, I'm aware that some of the stories in the Bible are similar to stories from other cultures. I think it's amazing that more than one group of people endured a catastrophic flood about the same time Noah built the ark. Along with other arguments you have put forward I am reminded of Genesis 1:28 which says: And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, AND SUBDUE IT: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth. It seems to me that he put us in charge and when things go wrong we only have ourselves to blame.
Since people migrated to different areas, cultural stories moved with them to different places & found a place in other cultures witha few changes to suit a particular culture.Archeology has proved that there has been more then one flood. It was not caused by a 'god' getting pissed but due to the melting of several ice ages thru out time. 'Gods/ goddesses'were invented by man to explain the existence of the universe & humanity. The bible is NOT based on 100% factual events.
