Teddy Roosevelt and Lincoln are pretty much the only republicans that have ever been good for the country.

I find it funny that so many Christians picked Barry considering his disdain for Christians.

I think every good Christian ought to kick Falwell right in the ass.

And my all time favorite that speaks so true of today.....

    The Berry Goldwater quote

Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.
    .....
The religious factions that are growing throughout our land are not using their religious clout with wisdom.... I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' and 'D.' Just who do they think they are?... I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of "conservatism."

Goldwater would have made a good President.

Lincoln may have been the first Republican President but he didn't even get 40% of the popular vote in t a 4-way race in 1860.
He changed parties and ran under the National Union Party label in 1864 and still only got 55% of the popular vote.
And that was with only the northern states participating in the election. Had the southern states been included, he would have lost in a landslide.

Being the first to trample the Constitution and states rights, he was crowned a hero by progressives in 1912 and a bill was finally passed to build the Lincoln Memorial.

The south deserved it, they attacked first and were waging human rights violations via slavery.
  • Catch224u gregory... 2012/08/23 21:57:50
    Catch224u
First off slavery didn't enter the picture until some 18 months into the war. It was a move of desperation on the part of Lincoln, because he was getting his a## kicked. The north had slaves, what are you that ill-informed? Gen. Grant didn't turn his loose until after the 13th Amendment, that was after the war.
How did the South deserve it? Everything they did was perfectly legal. Secession was even taught at West Point to all the soon to be Gen. both North and South.
When a Gov. is too oppressive it is our right to put away that Gov. and form another. Sort of like Obama and today.

That's news to me. I thought we fired on Fort Sumter. You know that was a set up. All but two Forts were given up by the North after secession. Fort Sumter was there to monitor the shipping , you know Tariffs, the North's only income?
