Last year on this date the Israeli Defense Forces started an operation that culminated in 1,440 dead Gazans.
Half of those, women and children.
3 Israeli deaths were reported.
It appears that Remember These Children has not yet documented a number of the Palestinian children killed during Israel's Dec 27, 2008 - Jan 18, 2009 assault on Gaza. They report only 269 of the Palestinian children killed during that time (and an additional 9 who later died from wounds inflicted during that time period). B'Tselem has documented that ISRAEL KILLED 345 PALESTINIAN CHILDREN IN GAZA during this time. We do not doubt the validity of this higher number as they are extremely careful in their documentation. (Read their report.) http://www.ifamericansknew.or...
“The majority of these [Palestinian] children were killed and injured while going about normal daily activities, such as going to school, playing, shopping, or simply being in their homes. Sixty-four percent of children killed during the first six months of 2003 died as a result of Israeli air and ground attacks, or from indiscriminate fire from Israeli soldiers.”
Here is the report from the Israel watchdog agency.

TODAY IS THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE ATTACKS ON GAZA JEWISH VOICE FOR PEACE"

JEWISH VOICE OF PEACE
The bombing of Gaza started one year ago today. And every time I tuck my own son into bed, I think of Mohammed Shurrab, and the other parents like him who I met in Gaza, in Silwan in East Jerusalem, in South Hebron in the West Bank.
I think about the Israeli soldiers sent to Gaza and Hebron, some taught to hate, most simply armed and scared, the responsibility for enforcing occupation on their young shoulders; and the people in the south of Israel fleeing to shelters every time they hear the air raid sirens warning of Qassam rockets.
I think about the Gazan mothers who had nowhere else to go, who clutched their children in apartment hallways each night as bombs fell overhead-- and I remember the deliberate destruction of Gaza's factories, schools, hospitals and administrative buildings that I saw with my own eyes.
In the next few days, in an effort to call the world's attention to the continuing disaster in Gaza, over thirteen hundred people from 42 countries, including many JVP supporters, will arrive in Egypt and Israel to participate in the Gaza Freedom March on December 31. The Egyptian government is threatening to pull the plug on the march. We've mobilized supporters to pressure them to let marchers through. But no matter what happens at the border -- like you, like everyone in the march, we at JEWISH VOICE FOR PEACE won't forget, we won't deny, and we won't desert.

WHat we know is behind them-
Seems like just a fun outing, signing bombs with love...
I liken the mentality to pedophilia.
The Jewish people were horribly traumatized.
But instead of developing strong compassion for others who are oppressed,
they took that pain out on an innocent bystander.
And now the abused, has grown into - the abuser.
their developed is all about" black power" and then they tell THE WORLD WE WANT PEACE "YAKH Representation of boring"
Wa 'alaikum assalam wa rahmatu Allah, friend.
so they think they r perfect and........................
as you said they torture Roman people the same in palesinian people
and you are completly right they invented terrorist and try to hide it bu muslims
Salam

Butterflies | Forward this PictureWell, there are some ugly Talmudic verses-
but people find some pretty horrific hadeeth too-
Here is a hopeful sign-

It's a shame that all religions teach love, peace, and tolerance, yet few of the adherents of the various religions actually live what their religion teaches. That's not an indictment against religion; it's an indictment against mankind....

And my own local-

Americans imagine that all Jews in Israel are Likudnik rightwingers.
Israelis are actually living it- and by no means are all anti-Palestinian-
they cannot afford the ideological luxury that most Americans have- and are often shocked at how monolithic we are.
Got the message? Israel is strong and will live happily forever, whether you go out of yourself from hatred. Duhhh.... Go go steam ....

I'm not saying that all Jews are bad people. Two of my best friends are Jewish, and they too disagree with Jewish people committing crimes elsewhere and then running to Israel to escape punishment. And the simple fact of the matter is this: every major conflict that Israel has been involved in has been STARTED by Israel. Israel doesn't want to be left alone; they want to rule the Middle East, period.
If someone was beaten by the Jewish kids it doesn't mean the "organization of training the terrorists".
You heard only one side of the story about the Jewish teens. You don't know the entire truth and you can not use it to your advantage. To judge the teens you must listen to the full true story. Otherwise don't take a charge role on yourself. May be they did it in self-defense?
There are countless Jewish criminals hiding in Israel so they cannot be punished for their crimes. That's a cold, hard fact, whether you accept it or not.
If they don't want to rule the Middle East, then why do they always want to invade every country in the region? Did you forget about when they tried to invade Egypt? Did you forget about when they tried to take over the Sinai peninsula? Do you remember any history at all?
BTW, the story about the Jewish teens was on America's Most Wanted, so, yeah, you're right, it was probably a total fabrication... NOT!
But don't get me wrong. I'm not necessarily saying that all Jewish people are bad - that would be ludicrous. But the nation of Israel, as a general rule, is ran by self-righteous war mongers, regardless of all their talk about peace. They preach it, but they never practice it....
"If someone was beaten by the Jewish kids it doesn't mean the "organization of training the terrorists".
You never mentioned an organization of terrorists-
She followed me here because I commented on her question.

What is dreadfully contradictory though- is the softpedaling here.
Brutal torture and murder becomes simply " If someone was beaten"
IF someone was beaten-
I spoke for you below- hope I got it right-
"His point wasn't defaming Jewish people.
His point was giving an example of how America turns a blind eye to the crimes of Israel- even when it's against their own people on their own land."
But be objective, in such a city as New York you really don't know the actual statistics between Jewish people and not Jewish people - who killed whom. All I want you to do is be objective and not to take one isolated incident with the Jewish teens. The only thing you do by singling out this incident is you spread anti-semitism in America.
I can post a list of all the cases when the innocent Jewish kids were killed or injuired by the Americans. But you don't want to hear it do you?
Be objective and don't spread anti-semitism. WE have enough of this crap.
His point was giving an example of how America turns a blind eye to the crimes of Israel- even when it's against their own people on their own land.
We're a bit more sophisticated in this forum.
That old canard of anti-semitism simply won't work here as a silencer of criticism.
We're not, and that's that.
In this forum- you actually have to prove your point with logic and reason.
If you think that is anti-semitism, you have lived an extremely pampered life.
Americans imagine that all Jews in Israel are Likudnik rightwingers.
Israelis are actually living it- and by no means are all anti-Palestinian-

You are precisely right, my friend. Every religion has been used at one time or another to justify atrocities toward other peoples. Just look at all the people murdered in the name of Christ over the centuries.
It's a shame that all religions teach love, peace, and tolerance, yet few of the adherents of the various religions actually live what their religion teaches. That's not an indictment against religion; it's an indictment against mankind....
BUT_
THIS is the little window of opportunity and accord that I live for.
You interrupted our conversation with this comment-
"Got the message? Israel is strong and will live happily forever, whether you go out of yourself from hatred. Duhhh.... "
It was intrusive, it was aggressive, and it projected hatred where none existed.
How something sounds, or how I perceive it- is something only I control-
No one has the ability nor is responsible for my perceptions.
So apologizing for how something sounds- it's not really possible.
To me- apologies must contain some elements-
First, one accepts personal responsibility and accountability for one's own direct actions or words.
Second, one shows genuine remorse for admission of offensive action or word.
And, my own personal third, which I do not hold others to but practice myself-
is to recompense in some way.
But, it wasn't said to me- so it's not under my purview to accept or reject, as I wasn't the receiver.
But thank you for that all the same.
Maybe you didn't read the article.
It is solely and only about the Gazans people.
So whether Israel is attacked fairly or unfairly- that is debatable.
And let me also point out- the article was written by Israelis.
I let people define themselves, and also criticize themselves.
