Today marks the 175th year that the Lone Star State has had its freedom from Mexico. The state adopted the "Texas Declaration of Independence" on March 2, 1836.

I live in FL, but I will celebrate one of my favorite places with some of my favorite Texas activities... I love Texas, been end to end and I have to say it is the most diverse state in the union. From Tyler to El Paso, people are friendly, the weather is nice, the food is incredible and the women are warm and affectionate. God Bless Texas.

I know its Mexican, but I discovered this kick ass tequila in San Antonio

Since I am not from Texas, not a whole lot, but I would suggest that the residents of Texas might want to thank their Creator for not allowing Mexico to win the war for independence as they would be seeking to cross their nothern border, just as their southern neighbors are seeking to do today!

A bunch of friends and our family will gather at the ranch and BBQ beef, wild hog and drink lots of beer. My Mexican friends will be there as well, celebrating the fact that they were liberated from the oppressions of Mexico.

I have intentions of going for a long ride, getting back by the time Ramos, my Ranch Foreman has completed all the preparations for our yearly Family Barbecue. I hope to catch some trout in the Lake, bring them back and hopefully havethem for Breakfast. Even though it is Texas Indepenence Day, we do this every Holiday we can..after all...it is the best excuse for all of us to have a lot of fun...and get away from the drudgery of everyday Rach life!
