I'm going to have to pass on this, as any good patriot should. Because the flag of the United States of America doesn't stand for America or the states or the people, it stands for the federal government. There is nothing about the federal government we have today that I am proud of or thankful for and there is no way in hell I'm going to salute it.
It all depends on your point of view- rhetoric or reality. Where you see a nation united, I see a nation divided. Where you see prosperity and opportunity, I see poverty and oppression. Where you see a flag that symbolizes the good in the people who wear it, I see a tag that symbolizes indentured servitude. And where you see heroes saving lives and fighting for freedom, I see armed thugs blinding following orders without regard to the consequences.
I'm not a hippy and I'm not going anywhere so you've got me all wrong. But I think I've got you pretty well pegged. People like you thrive on the cronyism and corruption of government and monopolism while turning a cold shoulder to the people who are hurt by it. You only see what you want to see and ignore what you don't like. As soon as your world collapses in on itself, people like me will be here to clean up the mess and build a true democracy with a real free market. Then, if you disagree with that, I'll be happy to fire the first shot of the next American civil war right between your eyes.
Even with all of our troubles, I LOVE this nation. It does NOT get any better than AMERICA!

Haha! I thought the same thing, but only for a moment. At least she's indexed her finger and she's not going to hurt anyone. But I have admitted, I could have picked better pictures... Still, guns, our flag, and a lovely lass such as this one... I'm willing to overlook some of the little things lol
Saw a few hundred American Flags in a small town in Chambers County, Anahuac, Texas today. They only have about 2,200 population there. Did not know it was flag day.
I did not state that all progressives disrespect the flag, but I did not make that clear. My statement intended to reflect that the examples of disrespect for the flag of which I am familiar involved progressives (I use that term as synonomous with liberal, democrat, socialist, etc.). Examples: (1) The Lake County Democratic Party headquarters displayed for months an American flag from which the traditional field of blue and the white stars representing the states had been removed. In their place was an image of President Barack Obama. (2) Numerous Mexican imigrants (illegals and legal) have dragged our nation’s flag, through the mud and across the concrete in their marches for their ‘rights’ to break our laws. (3) Pro illegal alien schools in California have flown the Mexican Flag in place, or above, the USA flag, (4) CodePINK and other liberal anti-war groups have putg a peace symbol over the stars of the flag; (5) Gore supporters protesting the inauguration of George W. Bush as the 43rd President of the United States on January 20, 2001, carried American flags upside down; (5) Obama with his hands by his side instead of over his heart as the National Anthem was being played as the flag was raised.
Why the USA has a dictater just like other country what makes tem diffrent?
