I use to watch Fox prior to the 2008 elections, but instead of reporting the news they began reporting personal views and political leanings. On a REAL news reporting station (I'm talking local channels) that type of reporting would get a person fired in 1/2 a blink of an eye. I guess because it is paid television, you get what you pay for and that doesn't say much for Fox. So they are no longer considered a journalistic station but more of hacks trying to pass themselves off as journalists and unbiased commentators.

Have any data to refute anything Fox News says or is name calling it?

My question is why do liberals have such blind faith that government is looking out for their best interests without question?

No problem attacking a news organization, but don't want to question the government that has actual power over them.

And why do you feel that the Repubs have your best interest at heart. I have yet to hear or see them do anything worth value to my life or those of my community. When a Republican can talk honestly about the fact that their great leader George Bush knocked down and scaled way back on children's healthcare in '06 because the Democrats pissed him off then maybe, just maybe I would view that party differently. When their bullying continuously hurts someone in my family based on politics and NOT what is good for the people in this country then they are nothing more than egotistical power hungry asses.

So you say don't attack FOX but go on offense against the government. OK--I want to know why the Republicans aren't saying---you know back in 06 when Bush denied special needs children and other needy children their health insurance because the Democrats saw that there was no need to sign off on more war. Bush said screw it, then I won't push additional funds into children healthcare, in fact, lets start by taking them off, they don't need it. What happened---well I know for a fact that my special needs child lost his health coverage and I have been UNABLE to get private insurance because of preexisting conditions, nice to know---I want to know with this unemployment rate as it is-...

What happened---well I know for a fact that my special needs child lost his health coverage and I have been UNABLE to get private insurance because of preexisting conditions, nice to know---I want to know with this unemployment rate as it is--why are repubs refusing to sit down and talk about the jobs bill...you know in the real world of jobs people get FIRED for not sitting and talking out differences and laying alternatives on the table...oh you say they have---where is it? They keep saying they have something on the table and then in the same breathe complain there is no transparency in the Obama admin, but its funny how I can go on the gov't site and download the democrats proposed bill but can't find nothing the republicans have put out. How about this healthcare summit on the 25th---oh the republicans are saying "it's a trap". When you keep extending a hand wanting their input and they keep snapping back saying the hand isn't there what do you expect!

People keep saying that the Obama admin is all about socialism and big govt, what is the better alternative..I pay taxes and both democrats and republican salaries, for what? For them to sit back and collect a check for nothing? The whole purpose of govt is to make sure that the country stays stable and sustainable, therefore the govt has to be visible and that's not politics, socialism or any other foolhearted label. WTF do you pay your taxes for if not to make sure competent and capable people are working on your behalf?

Republicans don't have my best interest at heart, conservative Republicans do. Limited small constitutional government of low taxes, few regulations is the key.

There are many statists in Congress now, including some Republicans and all of the Democrats.

Thanks for your obviously biased LWNJ question! I believe you have a typo...Fox, not faux, News is probably the least biased news broadcast domestically. The magazine shows such as Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly are obviously opinion shows.

i agree with that, journalism (in it's purist form) isn't around much nowdays... but, there are still places that give you both sides of the story, and from recent experience, FOX is in fact one of the ones who do... there's even some truth out of their opposition on occasion, but more and more, finding somewhere that will give you both views is a rare thing...

I just answer a question about both sides of the story. One of fox reporters apologized because an other reporter only interviewed the republican candidate in NJ race for Governor. All the other reporter could say there was not enough people were interested in hearing the other side opinion. Please explain this. I am sure you have an answer.

well, they're by no means perfect, and in some of that there is a tendency to lean* to one side or another, but even knowing that, that's no different than any other news station is it?

and no, I don't always have an answer LOL, but i do try to look at the stuff realistically..

I am sorry but this a disregard for news. She had no excuse. Both parties should have been represented. That is a big deal.
  • Bill - ... ruthie 2009/11/12 05:23:23
    Bill - McGee - 2012 "I am a Terrorist "
while I agree that both sides should be represented in any issue, the fact that one reporter here or there didn't do it, isn't anything new nowdays, for example, "MSNBC's" Arizona "White gun toting racists" story.. not even close to attempting to portray the truth for either side much-less giving an opposing view a chance to chime in on the story...

like I said before, true journalism isn't around much nowdays, but I still see more balance out of the stories I read about FOX than I do a majority of the other "news" networks...

Maybe someday they'll all wake up and realize that we want the news from the news people, and commentary from the commentators....
  • ruthie Bill - ... 2009/11/12 05:36:55

you see balance in what fox sales as news?
These guys make up news to fight the white house. Unfounded news. I listen to enough balanced news to question how these guys get away with calling themselves a news station. Reminds me of the 700 Club and Rush L.

That's good, not that I don't think they might not actually portray something in a factual manner on occasion, but after their two most recent instances of being caught utterly ignoring the truth to push their agenda(s) I'd have to say you're not missing anything by not watching them.

try watching Hannity. He sometimes has a liberal guest on. Notice how he cuts them off when they make a positive point or corrects him. No one EVER gets a word in otherwise. He really Alan to balance him but with Hannity alone the scale tips waaaaaay to the right.

But when exactly has FOX actually not shunned liberal during interviews under "my religion doesn't believe in that" or "shut up"?
  • Bill - ... All-Ame... 2009/10/29 03:57:23
    Bill - McGee - 2012 "I am a Terrorist "
FOX has (in my experience) offered many more times than not to hear the opposition's side of the story no matter what the issue was, in fact, both FOX news and it's commentators have more than once offered Barry and Co the opportunity to either be interviewed, or appear..

as far as the shut up comments, I've seen a couple, but never from the "news" portion of the network, that's always come from the commentator's side of the things and I've seen the shut up used when the person being asked a question goes off on some unrelated tangent instead of just answering the question they were asked.., I've also seen the very same type of actions from commentators on the other side, so there's no difference there really...

Bill there is a big difference when an agency only shows you one part of the whole thing. We learn in school that there are at least two sides to the issue. Nobody wants to just put Fox in the fire pit. There is a lot of one sided news out there.
I use to order Mother Jones, an over the top liberal magazine. In hindsight I understand the difference today. I don't like made up or exaggrated new reporting.

I watch Fox news and I'm not a RWNJ, I'm not even a registered Repub. I am a regitered Dem. Fact is Fox is the only netwrok that makes sense and tells it like it is. Why do you think they are the highest rated cable news network?

Maybe if Obama and the White House didn't lie so much they wouldn't have to silence all those who speak the TRUTH. Like they tried to silence Humana and failed so they wound up eating crow. Like they tried ti silence the American people with their "fishing" phising police and wound up taking that off the White House web site. Like when they threatened radio with the "Fairness Doctrine" to silence them too. They haven't admitted to being Communist, at least not yet, but now they are after the US Chamber of Commerce for favoring the free market. We'll see who gets the gag order this time around.

You see when you lie TRUTH can be very embarrassing. When liars are confronted and exposed with TRUTH, the yell "shut up." The White House and Obama have been confronted with TRUTH and exposed by Fox, so they have tried to silince Fox. Fox hasn't gone after Obama, they've gone after his lies.

NBC wont do it because their parent company GE was bailed out and Jeff Imelt from GE was given a job by Obama as a financial advisor for theWhite House. ABC was offered...
