Time for the GOP to take on the racist Democrats and champion the interests of the disenfranchised, poor, inner city minorities in this country. Agree or not?

Liberal Democrats have controlled every major American city's city council and have been mayors for the last century, solid, and what has resulted? Inner city minorities are as poor, ignorant, dependent on the government, and disenfranchised as ever before. Time for the GOP to stop caring about the racist Democrat party leveling unfounded race cards at them, and bring conservatism to American cities, and bring opportunity, and free market capitalism to those who have been deprived of it for so long.

It is a disgrace that the inner cities and underpriviledged areas of the Country have been pinned down by the Democrat policies in the name of leveling the playing field and making things fair.

How much greatness have we lost because of the failing schools, a welfare entitlement and a belief that the deck is stacked against them, so why should they even try to bring themselves up.

Well if I was an inner city minority, calling me "ignorant"(as you do in your post) makes me think you wouldn't be to keen to look out for my interests. You know the ones who have been deprived of it for so long. The GOP abandoned me for their own greedy reasons by taking flight to the suburbs and beyond, to leave me to toil at whatever was left of the inner cities. Voting down mass transit to many of the communities where you reside. The free market opportunities you have established in our communities consisted of selling drugs to your children, that come here by the carloads. Now that the extreme right has "disenfranchised" many of your numbers you want to come buy some voters. Well it's time to come up with some numbers. You go first.

Boy people on here are right on the money. I have to disagree with it being in just the inner city and affecting minorities. I live in a small town in western PA. It is predominantly white. One thing I have found is that welfare is just as bad in a place like this as it is in an inner city dominated by minorities. This place is heavily democrat and always has been. They always have a token republican on the county commission. The dems have for decades refused to allow industry to come into this area to create jobs. The welfare folks refuse to get jobs because they get paid more on welfare. They have no financial responsibilty what so ever.

the policies of Obama--big government control, high taxes, and huge amounts of regulations only ensures that the class system in America becomes even more rigid, and allows for less upward mobility of all Americans, especially the poorest in society.

I disagree, San Diego has been a Republican stronghold since the 1890s, and the minorities are still disenfranchised.

At least in SoCal, the Republicans trying to play THAT card would be laughed out of town.

the city council president and majority of the city council are Democrats, and San Diego is California, a State run by liberal Democrats. So, it is not solidly Republican. It is much better than Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Oakland, however because of the conservatives who do manage to get elected.

It is a conservative city thanks in big part to the numerous military bases there. I lived there for three years. Great place!

The Mayor is Republican, and most of the Congressmen are Republican.

The past Republican City Councils have nearly bankrupted us with giveaways to local sports franchises- and it was the local Democrats who stood up and demanded to see figures that actually pencilled out that stopped the latest billion dollar giveaway project.

Inaction on the part of conservatives for decades is the whole reason the left has so easily co-opted that cause as their own.
We could have ended that mess a long time ago. Now it's under the control of people who perpetuate it.

It helps them keep a steady pool of voters permanently attached to the govt. tit. If they allowed minorities to actually achieve, then they would have no need for the Dems.

community organizations such as ACORN should be ashamed of themselves the most. A few guilty, White liberals at the top of the organization conspire with the Democrat party to get funds, and send out hired minions to do the illegal activities of the organization. Once they are busted, ACORN disavows themselves of any connection with those they had just paid to commit illegal acts--nothing but disposable gargage to the ACORN leadership.

And, the thing is that the policies and politicians ACORN is peddling are the same policies of the last century that have proven to keep minorities poor, ignorant, disenfranchised, and dependent on government crumbs. It's disgraceful and immoral what ACORN does to poor minority communities.

I recently read an article written by a Black conservative woman describing the Democrat and Obama's way of plantation style governing. Keep the minorities ignorant, poor, and dependent on the government crumbs so every 2 years, someone who looks like them will make the same promises that have been made for the last 40 years under liberalism, they all vote in blocs, made scared of voting Republican, and after every single election, the Democrats ignore their constituents, and break their promises. It's a never ending cycle with Democrats in the inner city.

I say we start with eliminating teachers unions and start actually caring about educating teachers and not unions simply receiving their all important dues.
