Thousands rally in support of gay marriage ban

- Thousands of supporters of California's ban on same-sex marriage rallied in Fresno and San Diego on Sunday in what organizers described as a celebration of traditional wedlock and a thank-you to the California Supreme Court for upholding their voter-approved measure.

In Fresno, about 3,000 demonstrators -- the same number who turned out the day before on the other side -- were told not to accept being called bigots because they support traditional marriage.

Democracy and free speech work both ways...good to see conservatives are shedding their anti-activist habits.

People on both side of an issue have the right and duty to stand up and be counted without all the hate rhetoric.

All this hate for people that are merely standing up for what they believe in.

Miles McPherson, a former pro football player and the founder of The Rock Church, urged the San Diego crowd to try to convert people who believe in same-sex marriage.

"Get in their face -- in a loving way," he said.

    Lol...

    I love how Christians think...

It is time for conservatives to stand up and be counted, and stop letting liberals try to bully us into thinking we are wrong.

Makes me wanna puke. It takes a real a-hole to celebrate torn families, oppression of love and crushed dreams. There is a special place in hell reserved for people that are capable of this magnitude of cruelty.

*pssst.... let me tell you a secret.* Come closer... [I don't give a f*ck] ;) shhhh, don't tell them because I secretly love the attention!

LOL! Like a DR is going to hurt my feelings! What really hurts my feelings is that chicken sh!t ass clowns like that think they have the authority to dictate the rights of others. Who is to say what is right or wrong? Not us, that's for sure! I can promise that every person against gay marriage commits a sin daily. Bet half of them have some TRULY sick perversion that they are trying to hide from the rest of the world by pretending like homosexual marriage is the real demise of our society. It really raises my blood pressure!

I am tolerating it, I just think it's ignorant. I'm allowed to have an opinion. Let's vote on straight marriage, since it's obviously a privledge that is granted by the general public. That only seems fair

You are not tolerant.......your first instinct is to start calling people names if they have a different opinion than yours. The vote on straight marriage comment......not even going to address that......

Ignorant isn't name calling when people have no idea about the subject that they are voting on.... it's a fact of life. And you won't address it because you know it's bull. I could go out and legally marry an unknown male prison inmate right now and enjoy all the legal benifits of a couple in love but my best friend can't marry her partner of four years. They have the qualifications to make a good marriage, but one of them is missing a penis. It's stupid. Most straight marriages end in divorce. If that isn't called "ruining the sanctity of marriage" I don't know what is!

We know exactly what we are voting on ......you on the other hand (whos sexual orientation is Bi) should not accuse people of not knowing what they are voting on,you are the one that's confused.

I know that I am attracted to both men and women. No confusion there! You are completely ignorant to homosexual relationships because you've never experienced one. It's not an insult, it's the truth. (Nice try, by the way. I'm comfortable with my sexuality. I've heard it all. Not offended or upset by any of it. YOU may be confused by my sexuality, but it seems to me that must happen to you a lot.)

I wasn't trying to be insulting by any means. I have a family member that's a lesbian and we don't treat her any different than anybody else.........and she knows how we feel about same sex marriage. Actually Bi sexuality is confusing to alot of people......but that doesn't mean that you're hated. You might be surprised that there were alot of gays and lesbians that demonstrated with us and voted yes on prop 8.
