Thousands rally in support of gay marriage ban

- Thousands of supporters of California's ban on same-sex marriage rallied in Fresno and San Diego on Sunday in what organizers described as a celebration of traditional wedlock and a thank-you to the California Supreme Court for upholding their voter-approved measure.

In Fresno, about 3,000 demonstrators -- the same number who turned out the day before on the other side -- were told not to accept being called bigots because they support traditional marriage.

Democracy and free speech work both ways...good to see conservatives are shedding their anti-activist habits.

Why is it that when we don't agree with you we hate?????? I have a niece who is a lesbian and have some gay friends and I don't hate them because they want to marry someone of the same sex.

California is my home state and this is the second time that we have voted on marriage........so it is my business. Until your state votes on it......maybe you can mind your own business.

Personally, I'm glad I'm a straight guy. I like women. I have friends and relatives that are gay and I pass no judgement on them, even though I am a Christian, they are my friends.. It is not for me to decide what's right or wrong, nor judge someone else for their sexual preference, and other people should be tolerant of the fact that all people are different, and by being different doesn't mean they are no better or no worse than anyone else.
If someone is truly a Christian then they will let the good Lord pass judgement. And, remember, "Let he without sin cast the first stone."

Well said, Frank. I don't think opposing gay "marriage" is passing judgment, though, when the domestic partnership act in the state gives them all of the same rights.

And from the same passage, John 8:11, He also said "go and sin no more!!!" God certainly was NOT tolerant of sin! And He doesn't expect Christians to be tolerant of a society that tries to make sin acceptable! That is insane to even believe such!! The Lord will pass judgment, but he also expects us to recognize sin, and proclaim it as such. Lot's wife didn't recognize sin, she hesitated, what happened to her? If there is no morality in society, then society will certainly fall just like Sodom and Gomorrah. What was Jonah told to do in Ninevah? And once there he wasn't no pansy about it either. He told them to turn from there evil ways or DIE, God didn't allow Jonah to sit on his tail end and ignore sin in the name of TOLERANCE. There is a huge difference in being kind to your fellow man, as Jesus was, and pretending that in the name of Tolerance that sin isn't sin! Luke17:3 states" if your brother sins rebuke him" Look it up, read the chapter. And homosexuality is certainly sin, read 1 Corinthians 6:9. So how on God's green earth do you think it's OK to condone Homosexual marriage? God certainly doesn't excuse it as people just being "different". Read Matthew 18:7, ""Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to th...

Looks to me like he expects us to speak up, not keep quiet! Read Matthew 18:15, again God isn't telling his people to keep quite about sin, he says to call it like it is Frank, or else you and everyone else you lead astray will pay the price.

Well said. However you forgot the part where God said
"So if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life injured or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire." Matthew 18:18.

To me that says to turn away from sin no matter where it is. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin. And aside from the Bible telling me, I just know it. If it was so normal, why wouldn't it always have been out in the open?

People are always trying to push the envelope and force people into accepting things that are wrong. And if we oppose it, we are haters and racists.

I am straight. I have always been straight. If being gay was natural, there would be no point in 2 sexes. It is about time for the votes to hold as they should. Gays lost. They should deal with it.

Here we go again with comments of RW nut jobs need to go. I do belive there are quit a few Libs that feel marriage is a union between a man an a woman. And I really wish some one would enlighten me on were this is a civil rights issue. A guy man has the same rights that I do in this country. He can voice his opinion as I do he can worship as he sees fit , as I do he can own a weapon if he wishes as I do. And if he chooses to marry he can just as I can. But he would have to marry a woman just as I Do I do not have the right to marry someone of the same sex ether . that’s the way it is and always has been CO Manna Sie

You have hit the nail on the head. Gays want to be treated differently than other couples who are not in a sexual relationship - it isn't equal rights they seek, it is special treatment. In California and other states with domestic partnership laws they have all of the rights of married couples as it is. If they want to call themselves husband and husband, or wife and wife, what is to stop them?

The defacto lead of the Democratic party, (Obama) is one of those that believe marriage should be reserved for one man and one woman.
