Many people don't vote on the issues or a candidate's track record.
Instead, they base their decisions on their emotions.
This morning on public radio there was a discussion of the impact of "likeability" on peoples's vote. Does a candidate's "likeability" affect your vote?

A recent Gallup poll reported that Americans find President Obama more likeable than Mitt Romney, but it remains to be seen whether a cheery disposition and sense of humor will carry the day in November. What makes a politician likeable? Can personality overcome other perceived deficits?

I think people confuse his "cunning" and "guile" with "likeability. I have absolutely no use for someone who wishes to transform America into his version of "fairness" which involves doubling the size, scope and coerciveness of our central government, and in the process will likely bankrupt the nation.
