Think outside the box, people!

steven 2012/05/21 05:41:00
FOREWORD: I know not all of you will see things as I do, but allow me to vent to those who will possibly be able to change their viewpoints long enough to see that life is full of alternatives and that the glass is not always half empty. Think me arrogant if you will. Think me overbearing. I don't care. The time has come to stop being silent and start to fight back.

------------------------------------------------

It's so frustrating to hear those who say you must think a certain way in this election--that Romney is the only viable candidate, for example. Who says? The GOP? Is that why they have to defraud Ron Paul at every convention for delegates? And yet the sheep calmly bleat their approval.

It's time to think outside the box. You are limited by your thoughts and nothing else in this election. Ron Paul chance to be nominated the GOP's choice is limited by YOUR thoughts, too. It's time for you to quit being a coward and finally do what's right for America. I'm sick of hearing, "Paul can't be elected." Not with THAT attitude and not by YOU. You think too small. You think like a wimp. You aren't angry enough about the state of our nation yet. You are appeased by your friends and neighbors who think Romney is the only alternative to Obama. Paul is in fact the alternative to Romney. You apparently want SOFT SOCIALISM in place of hard socialism. That's the difference between you and thousands upon thousands of us who want LIBERTY restored. We will do what it takes in the face of those who say we are reelecting Obama. We will not cower and wilt, but tell you to your face that if you don't get on board, YOU will reelect Obama. It is not we who are deluded, but you who think you can keep doing the same thing with different results. You cannot.

Sit in your nice, neat little box if you wish, but stop judging those who won't crawl in there with you. We think outside the box. We think outside the boundaries you cherish. They are not security and they are not safety. Sit quietly in your litter box like a good little kitty and die or stand against the lunatic politic and live. Your choice.
You!

Since Ron Paul has dropped out, and since he has stated that he can't imagine supporting anyone but Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, that is the man who will now get my vote--even if I have to write him in. Mises on national parties Mises on national parties

Well said, Steven. I have had this conversation hundreds of times with Americans who believe the propaganda they have been force fed their entire lives. To them, the choices presented are the only options. They are afraid to challenge the status quo. The Obummer supporters are the most deranged. With all the police state activities being forced on us, with all the corruption taking place from voter fraud to financial fraud, with all the blatant TSA abuses, they stand by their man. The ignorance and apathy on display is appalling.

The Romney supporters are doing as they are told by the Republican masters. They fail to realize that Romney has been chosen for them because he is just like Obummer. He will continue the anti Constitutional policies of Obummer. He will continue the war monger policies, the TSA policies, the Federal Reserve policies, the NDAA and other anti freedom policies. Either these Americans are blinded by the "anyone but Obama" rhetoric or are too damn lazy to do a little research to learn about the man.

Thankfully, more and more Americans are waking up to the fast track to hell and Fascism we are on. But just voting, even if it is fraud free, will not be all that is necessary to rid the stinking bile, scum and corruption from our country. Ron Paul supporters ARE up to the task.

Obama has little to do with passing the laws. He has influence on the way it is written but congress has the final say-so. So with that being said, congress has been pushing this over the last 4 decades that I know of. There is lets freedom now than there was in the Vienam- era.

While I admire your semi-willingness, I have to ask you a question or two. So you follow them instead of them following YOUR wishes? If you are willing to vote for Paul if the GOP nominates him openly, that will never happen. If you agree he is the better choice, shouldn't you be making your voice known to the GOP? Settling for second best or the lesser of two evils is no choice. It's being spoon-fed the pablum they want you to have.

Yep! In 2012 it will sound clear when it says no more Obbama. The voice for Ron will only say, we want Obama.

BS. you people will never understand what a third party means and this election's is way to important for childish games. There's not a chance in Hell Ron will be president but you won't see this fact till November when America removes your box. I can only pray Ron Paul supporters haven't put Obama in Office by then.

In spite of his official position I (and many others) still view Ron Paul as a Libertarian candidate, as a 3rd Party candidate. If he wins the Republican nomination, I WILL vote for him.

The real question is what will Ron Paul do if he does not win the GOP nomination. Will he fully support The GOP candidate or try to re-group as a Libertarian candidate? Neither will help the GOP much at this point.

I think Paul could have been much more influential in this election if he would have run as a SMART, strategic third party candidate [as I posted on another SodaHead rant "Leaders vs. Followers* by steven Posted May 20, 2012" in my post on 5-21-12 ~9:30 am]. It is too late for Paul now, but a weak third party could redirect the country on a better path IF they had brave and Statesman-like leaders willing to strategically withdraw and throw support to one of the major parties a week before the election. (see my details on how and why at the *"Leaders vs Followers".)

If Paul wins the GOP nomination, everyone will get to know him much better... both the good and the bad. Then, he will probably lose badly to the ruthless Obama political machine who will focus on his least important idiosyncrasies.

We don't just need idealistic leaders, we need Street-Smart Idealistic leaders. People who know when to fight, and how to win, then how to lead. It is a rare combination.

Paul won't disappear. And even if he did, the principles he stands for will not. It's time to set cowardice aside and do what is right for America. Paul scares the crap out of the Status Quo. He rocks their boats and threatens to turn them over. They SHOULD be turned over. I ask all rational people who fear him, but want 'anyone but Obama', stop seeing him as not in that category--he IS anyone but Obama. What is the worst that could happen with a single Ron Paul term in the White House? Could it be any worse than what we have now? And a little bulldozing would be just what we need.

I'm not a Republican, I have no input with the GOP. I'm just an Independent voter that can choose between the 2 choices available. I'm not voting for Obama. Or throwing my vote away to enable Obama another term.
