There's an App for... Concussions: Will You Download?

I don't have a "smartphone", but even if I did, diagnosing a concussion is best left to a real practitioner, not a chunk of silicon and plastic in my pocket.

Very true, but there are somethings that you should go to a doctor immediately for, and you wonder and wonder if you should. Now you can look it up and see what could happen if you don't seek medical attention, or if they miss something in their diagnosis...

Hey, I think it's a great idea. I arrived home to find my son lethargic and not wanting to eat, I wondered what was wrong. He then told me he bumped his head and I wasn't quite sure what to do. (We were living in a foreign country at the time so getting to an English speaking doctor was a bit of travel.) We watched him for a while and wouldn't let him sleep until late evening.
The next day we took him to the doctor and he asked many questions. We found out he was blind for about 10 minutes after the fall and doesn't remember his sister helping him stagger into the house. (She neglected to let us know that he staggered!)
I don't take my kids to the doc for every bump and bruise, but not knowing the symptoms or what to do if they have a concussion scared me. Especially living in a "backward" country. I am glad there is an app for that now.
Of course none of this would've helped me because I didn't have a phone with internet! :D

Why not. This is a capitalistic society. If someone is stupid enough to waste there money, there is nothing saying that others can't exploit this idiocy.

Nope, grew up in a hockey family...just break out the palms, fan, when they wane, scream "wake up"... (after diagnosis (shame on me), but it's the truth...Docs would say, just don't let him sleep (my bro)...he's an engineer, go figure............

id rather be diagnosed at a nice safe hospital who hav certified doctors who can help

Im only into causing Concussions not treating them.

There should be an app that stops people from making stupid apps like this.

I'm an APP adding nut but this is one I would pass on lol. That's why people go see Doctors. Their kind of trained in this stuff. haha

DON'T SELF DIAGNOSE HEAD INJURIES...GO TO THE E.R.

Get proper First Aid training, and if you don't have it... or if you're concerned about head trauma at all, go to the ER!

If you suspect someone has a concussion best to just take them to the hospital rather than get out your phone and try and play doctor

You could have someone else download it IF you thought you needed it. Just tell your friends and relatives about it...if you're, say, a boxer or have an overly aggressive wife.
