There is a "Bring your daughter to work day" but none for sons. Why is that?

I think there is "Bring your child" to work day, which would include sons. My brothers and I all went to work with my father at least once and I worked at my mother's place of business one summer.
I believe the "daughter" day was started to encourage young girls to think about careers they might not otherwise think about entering.
It would probably be a good idea for all children to go work with their parents at least once just to see what the work place is really like.

I actually always thought Bring Your Daughter To Work Day was made up, because I don't know anyone that's ever been to one, or any workplaces that do them.
It's not as if there's a law against doing a Bring Your Son To Work Day.

I've not seen it myself either. But the day was started by Ms Magazine in 1993.

Is that an American magazine? That would explain why we don't do it here.

I just looked it up. Looks interesting. I usually only find my feminist resources on Tumblr.

It's not like *bring your daughter to work day* is some national holiday.lol. Different organizations have different days. I've never seen one with a day specifically for daughters that did not have one for sons as well. But usually they are simply "bring your child to work" days.
