It's quite amusing to watch 545 people in D.C. managing to ignore and stand off 330-some million citizens. Please tell me this can't go on forever!

There isn't a government on Earth who actually cares about the will of their people, and this includes America's.

Well, they do care, and they're terrified.

It's just that this sort of thing will scare them into tightening down the screws and making Big Brother even stronger and more intrusive.

The people in power have their own agendas and caring would mean giving up a little bit.

None of the answers provided are completely true or false. The national unrest throughout the world is not unusual. Review your history. Every year there a number of major changes. Just find a 5-10 year old world map or globe and see how things change.

Attainable objective? Freedom. True democracy, not republic.

To accomplish Freedom, we may wish to define that before the shooting starts? We can choose to have a revolution to get some unknown new Ruler, or we can abolish this government which has removed our freedom.

Freedom as in democracy. I believe the only way to achieve this is to turn the world into a city-state society, where the small city-states can vote on what to do internally instead of representatives doing it.

I said that would be the only way for true democracy, unless we employed an intranet system where we could all vote for everything in our area. We've got the technology

Nah, republic is you vote for people to vote for you. Now that we have technology, we don't really need this.

    Pshaw.

People barely have enough interest to get the vaguest clue about the issues as it is. Can you imagine how nasty it would get if we were all involved in voting on every law?

People would still mostly be mindless puppets, voting the way their Authority Figures tell them to.

    Democracy is not freedom.

The only reason Athenian democracy worked was that the slaves let the owners have enough spare time to actually spend learning about the issues and thinking.

Even then, without a Constitution to define and limit the government, it turns into a tyranny of the majority.

Which is more or less what America has now. We just have a slight buffer with professional elected officials who really don't care about anything except the next election.

The Great Gerald Celente once said "when you have nothing left to lose, you lose it." He's right. People all around the world are starting to lose it. We can't quite feel it yet but it's coming. All around the world:

    1. People can't buy food or fuel at fair prices
    2. People can't elect officials that adequately represent them.
    3. 3rd World countries are tired of getting unfairly exploited.
    4. Industrialized countries are tired of the Middle Class getting gutted.
    5. All of us are getting tired of the constant war and sabre rattling.

Neocons, NWO apologists, and corporate globalists.....are you listening?

James, You have a lot of wisdom there my friend. Bravo ! I'm from Moline Ill Orginally.
What is so very sad about the state of the world, is that it history repeating itself. Its is because of the Neocons, NWO apologists, and corporate globalists. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY ITS THE LITTLE PEOPLES FAULT! THEY HAVE ALLOWED THE AFOREMENTIONED LIST OF LEADERS TO LEAD WITHOUT OVERSIGHT W/CHECK AND BALANCES.

THE CITIZENS ALLOWED THE BUREAUCRATS AND POLITICIANS TO GET GREEDY AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS AND HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST. EVIL LEADERS

More like riots. The greedy have taken the wealth. The Government represents a small percentage of people. Step 2 coming shortly.
