The US Jobs Situation is Sooo Bad...... How Bad is it jr?

jr 2012/05/04 14:16:07
It is so bad that illegal Mexican workers are having to return to Mexico to find a job.. Friends, do not be fooled by the declining unemployment rate. These numbers are being manipulated by randomly removing unemployed individuals from the calculation by classifying them as no longer looking for work, This is all in part of a propaganda campaign to make our communist in chief appear to be improving the unemployment situation while it is steadily getting worse. To see the real picture, is to view the below listed labor force participation rate

Obama is not a communist... and discouraged workers no longer looking for work have never been considered part of the unemployment rate. This is nothing new...

True, but we have never had sooo many discouraged workers "not looking for work" in our history either. That is new.

Last month, in March 2012, there were 142 million employed, 12.7 million unemployed, 7.7 million U6, and 87.9 million "not in the labor force". The unemployment rate is now (supposedly) 8.2%.

With 154.7 million in the labor force, 1% represents about 1.55 million people. The unemployment rate is 3.6% higher, so there ought to be about 5.4 million less people working than five years ago. That's not true. There are indeed 5.6 million more unemployed, but there are also a staggering 9.2 million more people "not in the labor force," most often because they can't find a job. That means the total number of additional people actually out of work compared to 2007 is 14.8 million, or 9.7% of the labor force.

Add that to the original 4.6%, and the actual rate of unemployment is about 14.3%.

Also, there are 3.2 million more people working part-time jobs because they can't find full-time work. Let’s add. Today, there are 18 million more people not working or unable to find the job they want than in 2007. Add in the original 7.1 million already unemployed in 2007, plus the original 4.6 million U6, and the total is 29.7 million. In a universe of 155 million workers, the real U6 rate is thus approximately 19%. This is all Dept. of Labor data, offering an apples to apples comparison.

The unemployment rate is pure political BS. If people want to know really how the economy is doing, compare the EMPLOYMENT rate with previous years. For the employment rate, there is no "seasonally adjusted" number or can you simply not count people because they are now considered hopeless or lazy. I looked for this number on the internet, but can't find it anywhere - I wonder why?

It was big news. Obama and Romney immediately jumped on it and held large speeches yesterday. Romney had the better speech. Happened to catch them both on CNN during my lunch break. Fox I'm sure had it too, and if CNN had it I'm sure the other networks picked it up in some fashion as well.

I missed that one – Honestly I listen to more Obama speeches than I do Romney so all I was able to catch all week was the Obama campaign about cutting the cost of education ….to bad there are no jobs for those educated idiots so no matter how low the payments they are still going be struggling to make them . LOL

And MOST of those 115K jobs are sevice related.. These are the jobs that ONCE were called "Jobs that Americans wouldn't do" like dish washing and janitorial minimum wage jobs..

The ONLY Above Minimum Wage jobs created under this administration are PUBLIC SECTOR jobs and all of THEM are paid for by TAXPAYERS and adding to the National Debt....

And you can be consoled with the fact that Obama might actually WIN re-election by doing so..

My best wishes to you and in your search for REAL gainful employment..

Never have so many,, eager to work,, been so unsuccessful in finding it..

Bush and a Republican Congress that oversaw a 5.6% unemployment rate NEVER looked so good.. ( And I don't even LIKE Bush )

New conservative jobs/tax plan... if income exceeds 250k, no taxes and if less 250k, then double current rate to compensate as needed so job creators can use 10% of tax windfall to add new higher taxed jobs, so more serfs to support the elites

It's YOUR Clown in the driver's seat for the last Three and a half Years and YOUR CLowns that ran Congress since 2006 during which time the unemployment rate has skyrocketed..

Don't blame THIS on the Republicans..

When the Republicans last held the White House and the Congress,, the unemployment rate was only 5.6% and YOU Left Wingers claimed THEN that Bush should be crucified for even that..
