The US Jobs Situation is Sooo Bad...... How Bad is it jr?

jr 2012/05/04 14:16:07
It is so bad that illegal Mexican workers are having to return to Mexico to find a job.. Friends, do not be fooled by the declining unemployment rate. These numbers are being manipulated by randomly removing unemployed individuals from the calculation by classifying them as no longer looking for work, This is all in part of a propaganda campaign to make our communist in chief appear to be improving the unemployment situation while it is steadily getting worse. To see the real picture, is to view the below listed labor force participation rate

Depending on which BLS monitor you use, U-3 gives you an 8.2% unemployment rate; if you use U-6, it gives you a 11% unemployment rate. Why the difference, U-3 doesn't consider those individuals that have run out of unemployment benefits nor those individuals who have dropped out looking for work since is non in their area.

Economists note that the shrinking labor force has masked the true size of the unemployment problem, since people who quit looking for a job are no longer counted as unemployed. In fact, had the labor force participation rate stayed where it was in June 2009, the jobless rate would be around 11%, .

Household jobs, also part of the unemployment rate calculation, fell by 169,000 after declining by 31,000 in March. The labor force shrank by 164,000 in March.

Many of those who've quit looking have instead signed up for disability benefits.

So far this year, nearly 1 million workers have applied to get on the disability program, according to the Social Security Administration. More than a third will eventually be enrolled. Almost 90,000 workers enrolled in the program in April, pushing the total for new enrollees above 333,000 in the first four months of the year. Add in spouses and dependents, and the number of beneficiaries added to the program so far this year climbs to 539,000.

As IBD reported recently, more than 5 million workers and their families have enrolled in the disability program since President Obama took office.

The Obama administration's economic advisers warned in a report last fall that the mass exodus of workers who can't find a job onto the disability rolls poses a long-term risk to the economy. Once enrolled, they almost never return to the active workforce. This can, the report said, result "in a loss to society of the economic contribution those workers could have made."

What is staggering is that we are in a period where we are ADDING debt. Debt brings demand forward. Right now we are burning future demand just to get the jobs picture this good. Just wait until we have to repay debt. Then you will get to see the real jobs picture.

The job situation is deplorable. I myself would love to find a part-time job but have no expectations. I know at least five people who are actively looking for work. In the past, I might have said that I knew no one who was unemployed.

However, there actually ARE jobs. My grandson started a job two years ago as a temp, was eventually taken on as a full employee and made, at the age of 19, $80k the first eight months and $111k the next full year. During the past two years he has gotten 4-5 friends on with the same employer. I am absolutely astounded by his success. It's hard work and long hours but it's great pay and he only 21.

Of course I won't publicly name this company but I will give you this tip if you are looking for a job.....try temporary agencies. Everyone at the company I'm referring to starts out as a temp. Most are taken on by the company within a year. There are no guarantee's but hanging in there has certainly paid off.

There are many reasons the Job situation is bad in America, a big one working against the United States is we have no Market to sell to . If we make it in America the manufacturing costs (including labor) are so high that the item only sells to a niche market that the other lowballer nations wont touch. American can and does sell the best in finished products , mechanical tolerance that most other nations cannot match , purity of metals and chemicals that not many other nations that lowball care to match. But that only gives the United States a small niche market and that does not keep the presses rolling in United States terms. I mean well we could stop importing and start producing for our own internal consumption and instead of showing up at WalMart with $200, you better show up with $500 and how are you going to like that . So I see and hear this question asked here on SH almost every week about lack of Jobs in America , my challenge to everybody is to come up with an logical , doable , job answer , not short term answer , long term answer where a man can get a good job in American and work it for 20~25 years . We Americans need answers.

In the area I live some jobs are picking up (not because of anything Obama did). From what I'm hearing they can't fill these jobs because applicants can not pass the drug test. This is a sad situation. Taxpayers are paying unemployment and welfare benifits to pay for drugs for people who don't really want to work

I love how the new unemployment figures show 350 to 375 thousand new jobless claims each week. That is one million people a month going on unemployment. Last month 110,000 jobs was created and the unemployment went down to 8.1%. How does unemployment go down when there are one million new jobless, and only a litttle over one hundred thousand new jobs?

Is it also just coincidence that each week the new jobless numbers are revised upward, and never downward? This has been going on for months now. These numbers are so crooked it is disgusting. The old saying figures don't lie, but figurers do is so true. We really can not believe anything this government releases anymore. Just like there is no inflation. Try telling that to those of us who shop for our own groceries each week.

People have dropped out of the search for jobs. The amount of jobs created is equal to. The amount of jobs lost so we have a net zero for jobs growth. This president has failed with everything he has done with the exception of saying yes let's get Osama!

...after he said for years "Hands off Pakistan" - Obama ran on a platform of putting ALL our troops in Afghanistan to look for Obama , when it turned out Bin Laden was in Pakistan all along ...no one is asking the real question : why did President Bush never look in Pakistan ? And they are not asking because the finger points as elected Democrats including Obama who openly and loudly demanded we respect Pakistan's border and not even send drones over it -not fallow Al Qaeda agents over it when they attacked us in Afghanistan ....
