The Seven Senators Who Voted Against Defunding ACORN

"By a vote of 83-7, the Senate voted to cut off funding to ACORN from the Department of Transportation and Department of Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. According to Fox News, your tax dollars have been very generous to ACORN.

ACORN Housing Corporation received $1.6 million to provide housing services to low-income communities in this fiscal year, ending Sept. 30, according to USASpending.gov, a federal government Web site for tracking government grants.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development Grants has given $8.2 million to ACORN in the years between 2003 and 2006, as well as $1.6 million to ACORN affiliates.

Now who were those seven senators who were apparently unfazed by ACORN's bland unconcern of providing mortgage money to a supposed prostitute and her pimp, even counseling them on evading taxes? (Nine senators did not vote.)

# Dick Durbin (D-IL)
# Roland Burris (D-IL)
# Robert Casey (D-PA)
# Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
# Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
# Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
# Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)...

Conservative activist James O'Keepe walked into ACORN's Baltimore office
posing as a pimp with a prostitute in tow and got some tax-evading advice from an ACORN staff member. In the video below, O'Keefe claimed he wanted to buy a house and was trying to figure out a way of accounting for his "ho's" income. The employee told the woman to list
    her occupation as "performance artist."

OK. So, this is pretty hilarious, I admit. It's a flagrant foul from a low-level employee. The two black women who were targeted in this caught on tape "pimps and hos charade" mostly likely bring home less than $30,000 per year. And they are two employees out of 13,000 employed by ACORN. O'Keefe admittedly tried this maneuver several times before he found someone gullible enough to bite.

So you haven't seen the other 3 videos. Looks like maybe 8 gullible people, and not all on the east coast. The one from San Diego was pretty bad. ACORN's leaders have embezzeled 1 million dollars, so it appears to me that ACORN is corrupt from the top down. If you think this is simply funny, then you need to look into your heart to see who you really are.

President Obama has very close relations with ACORN, and in his own words he says to judge him by who he keeps close. Obama has put some of the most radical people in his cabinet. And the Czars he has surrounded himself with are all most radical. Radical in that they have no intention of following the Constitution of the United States.

You need to look up who Sal Alinski is and then tell me that Hillary Clinton's praise of him when she was in college makes her simply liberal or is she also not a radical who cares nothing about our Constitution.

I say let's try to get these 7 out of office, as well as the 9 that chose not to vote on such an important issue.

So, it is OK for the taxpayer to help support an organization that appears to have corruption from the top down! It also appears with your attitude, that there would not be any chance of a sensible debate with you. If you are OK with the things that go on in ACORN, including the many indictments across the country involving votor fraud, then you are blind to what is going on. It also appears that you are OK with the DC ACORN people that fired 8 ACORN employees that wanted to have the ACORN books in DC looked at. These 8 ACORN employees were not at the bottom, they were high up in the organization and they were fired for wanting to expose ACORN for the corrupt organization that it is.

I worked for 37 years for a large regional bank in the Midwest. We had to deal with ACORN every time we announced a pending acquisition of another group of banks. Their MO was to show up at the headquarters with their signs, accusing us of "red lining" which were blatant lies.
How do you disprove a lie? Well, we added to our already extensive community outreach policies; and, we started a special program for first-time home buyers. I knew one mortgage originator who would use utility bill payments if there wasn't enough credit history. He would do everything possible to help buyers, just to see the ACORN accusations all over again in a matter of months.

This is NOT an organization that really cares about communities. It cares about money and power. I doubt they have decent criteria for hiring; and, I doubt they require employees sign an annual "Ethics Statement" like most bankers have to do. All of this is just the tip of the iceburg. With over 100 "affiliates" who will ever know the depth of the corruption?

Keep in mind, too, that one of the Radke brothers (the original founders) started the S.E.I.U., the fastest-growing union in the country. SEIU members, along with ACORN thugs, disrupted many townhall meetings in August.
