The Romney Out Of Touch Tour Continues

Romney – All Young People Need To Do Is Borrow Money From Their Parents
April 27, 2012
By Wendy Gittleson

In a continuation of Romney's "show America how out of touch I am" tour, today he told students at Ohio's Otterbein University that they should simply borrow money from their parents to start a business.

This kind of devisiveness, this attack of success, is very different than what we've seen in our country's history. We've always encouraged young people: Take a shot, go for it, take a risk, get the education, borrow money if you have to from your parents, start a business.

I am happy for Romney and for Jimmy John, that they have parents with an extra few grand to throw around, but when the majority of Americans are struggling to pay the bills, when college students are being forced to take on a life time of debt, his suggestion is completely removed from reality for most.

The other irony in Romney's "start your own business" advice is that he wants to do away with one of the things that could help young entrepreneurs, the part of the Affordable Care Act that allows parents to keep their children on their insurance until the age of 26.

Irony, really? 26 and still on your parent's insurance? Why don't we raise the voting age to the new age of maturity then? This article is more pap from a person who lacks all faith in their fellow man to make their own way in life. Good job, you have accurately described the reason this nation is failing, too many coddled, for too long.

Sad that all the leftists have are lame lies. What a shame they are incapable of factual debate.

Romney is 100% correct and that's how many generations have been an asset to society rather than a liability.
Of course, not everyone can do that, nor was he implying everyone could.
He was talking about how family members can help each other out, the way people did for centuries before the govt. decided to install lifetime entitlement programs and tax everything to death, including estates, to pay for them.

We have gotten so far removed from basic principles and the strength of the family unit that made this country great. Asian cultures rely heavily on the family bonding together to help one start a business and be successful. Then they move on to the next one in line and so-forth. No wonder they're kicking our butts right now, they're not waiting for someone to wipe their behinds.
