The Rand Paul endorsement of Mitt Romney brought to light the divisions amongst the liberty movement

Which is a bad thing right now because we are divided. However it will help us define ourselves.

Now our division does not come amongst principle, we share similar principles, not everyone of us are the same the and we are all individuals but the key principles of the liberty movement are very similar.

The division comes in the approach we want to take in making liberty mainstream.

There is the Alex Jones style approach. And there is the Jack Hunter style approach. Both have strengths, and weaknesses.

I personally side with Jack Hunter approach, and here is why.

The Alex Jones style approach involves "WAKING PEOPLE UP" to the darkness that is big government. The problem is first by saying we need to "wake people up" is assuming that we are more intelligent than them, which might be true. But even if it's true, the whole approach involves telling people the way they've been living is stupid. How would you feel if someone called stupid or a sheep, and then expected you to join them. The only positive side of this approach is you can say you never comprised, but it will take a very long time before you have a strong enough movement to influence the presidency.

The Jack Hunter style approach, is to make liberty once again the platform of the Republican party, this way involves supporting the Republican party during this election and future elections even if it is for as big government as the Democrats. But once we have proven the Republican party we are here to stay, more mainline voters will join us. The negative is, it isolated the Democrat voters, and I think there are just as many liberty minded people aligned with the Democrat party as there is the Republican party.

We must face this issue, in order for preparations, believe it or not, I think there will be elections in 2014 (Congress) and 2016 (President). And we will have a big enough voice by then to influence the outcome of those elections.

The problem is we have to decide prior to then who we will back in 2016

Will we want Rand Paul?
Will we want Andrew Napolitano?
Will we want Justin Amash?

I strongly believe the best chance of us winning in 2016 is Rand Paul.
You!

I disagree. Looking at Rand Paul's stated policies, it's clear that he's abandoned the principles of liberty; he's a statist. He's sold out to the very people we should be opposing.
