The Palin K.I.S.S. Principle: Keepin' It Simply Sarah

The left is still in an apoplectic conundrum about Sarah, continuing to throw contemptuous comments and scorn at the now private but very political, Citizen Palin. The most recent attack, by Sam Tanenhaus, in the December 7th issue of The New Yorker, consumed six very long, very wordy pages trying to describe the divine Mrs. P., comparing her to, of all people, Colin Powell.
Could Tanenhaus be more clueless? Powell is black, a male and a liberal. Palin is white, a female and a conservative. So far, they have nothing in common, except the first initial of their last names, which both also happen to have just two syllables.
Powell says he's still a Republican, but the GOP immediately pegged him as a RINO, a Republican in name only, when he abandoned the U.S.S. McCain campaign and boarded Obama's "hope and change" boat.
Powell also says very silly, non-Republican comments like, “The Republican Party is in deep trouble...[it] must realize that...Americans do want to pay taxes for services. Americans are looking for more government in their life, not less.”Sarah would never say anything like that, because she knows it's not true. She's a true Republican, and Powell is... soon to join the Democrats, since no one believes he's running rogue with the elephants anymore.
Like the majority of people on the left, Tanenhaus doesn't understand that Sarah's attaction and draw is quite clearly the incredible simplicity of Sarah. You don't need a degree from an elitist, Ivy League school to understand Sarah. You don't need to read Tanenhaus's article, or anyone's for that matter, to understand Palin's pull on America. She's very simple, really. She epitomizes the K.I.S.S. principle: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Or Keep It Simply Sarah.
The left loves to point out everything Sarah's not. Yet that is her magic: she's not one of them. She's the girl next door, she not an elite, she's one of us. She's not a Harvard, Yale or even Stanford grad. She's a University of Idaho grad.
And she did graduate from college, which makes her more educated than nearly three-fourths of the nation, frankly.
The left loves to say she's stupid and can't write. Stupid people who can't write usually don't get a Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism, with a minor in political science.
Considering the fact that only 27% of adult Americans actually have college degrees, the left might want to drop the "stupid" moniker. If they think Sarah is stupid, what, pray tell, is the rest of America?
The left loves to say Palin's unqualified to run our country. Most people on the right say the government is unqualified to run anything. As far as we've heard, Colin Powell has never run a family, a home, a PTA, a company, a city or a state. (Neither has Obama.) And Powell never, ever ran for vice-president of the United States.
So why on earth would Tanenhaus compare Powell to Palin?
Because there is, quite simply (there's that "simple," again) nothing else to compare her to, at the top. Up there, in the rarefied ivory towers of politics, Sarah has no equals, nor should she. She is no Hillary, no Nancy Pelosi, no Barbara Boxer, and boy, are we ever glad.
Yo, Tanenhaus, try coming down to our level. Sarah is one of us. She is an every woman, for every American.
We don't need 6 pages of high-faluting, gobbledy-gook to describe or define her.
She is simply Sarah, and we like her for being... just like us.
It really is that simple, stupid.

Worse yet, having read the article, I'm wondering if and I are reading the same thing, nothing you brought up has anything of relevance to the New Yorker post in question. You didn't even detail that the similarities the magazine bring up are in reference to the two's touring.
The communications degree is, from my personal experience, one of the easiest degrees for anyone to obtain. Though, one can be considered an idiot with or without a degree, there are many people without degrees that go on to lead successful lives, and even lead in political office.
Powell didn't run for the offices you listed, he was kind of busy being a four-star general, Joint Chief of Staff. During the Gulf War, he helped command close to a million troops, which is actually more than the population of Alaska. Let's not get into how most of the state of Alaska does note operate in strategic war games, deployment, and handling of billion dollar equipment. He did this, despite the handicap of being the son of immigrants and being brought up in Harlem, but I guess that doesn't make him an "every man" does it?
Powell also has more than one degree, I'm not sure if that's relevant either. I guess in your eyes it makes him less of a normal person.
And people Obama has been the president for all of... Has it even been a year yet? I didn't vote for the guy, but come the hell on.
Grow up.
Like a good biscuit, Sarah can rise to the occasion!
I wanted this shirt for my dog. Your comment reminded me of that.
Regarding the post: The issues that face this country/world are extremely complex, there are generally no simple solutions. For Ms. Palin to suggest otherwise tells me she doesn't understand the problems. You cannot simply say, "Oh we'll let the market lead us through this economic problem or environmental problem." The market is what has gotten us in the fix we are in.
