The Pagan Goddess Nike
The Goddess Nike

Nike (Pronounced Nigh-Key "Victory" was a goddess who personified victory, also known as the Winged Goddess of Victory. The Roman equivalent was Victoria.
to the German Pagans she was called Zisa, To the Norse and Celtics she was called Niamh

the shoe and sports equipment company Nike, Inc. is named after the Greek goddess Nike, as was Project Nike, an American anti-aircraft missile system.

During Ancient times, she was much revered by soldiers and warriors. However, her sphere of worshippers spread far beyond the military. She was called on to help people be victorious in everything from athletic contests to business and politics

Nike was much loved amongst the Roman people. Although, to them she was called Victoria. The Romans spent much of their time expanding their empire and prayed for victory often. They opened many temples to their Goddess of Victory in Rome and other countries they conquered.
Nike is the daughter of a Titan and an Oceanid, Pallas and Styx. She has three powerful siblings Bia, Zelos and Kratos. They are Deities of force, rivalry and strength.

Despite her parentage, Nike fought on the side of Zeus and the Olympians during their battle against the Titans. It was her essence of victory that helped the Olympians win the war and gain control of Olympus and Earth.

Nike is seen as a beautiful athletic winged woman, usually holding a laurel and a palm branch. In most of the Greek legends, she is in the company of other Gods, particular Zeus and Athena. She had many temples throughout Greece, yet her main temple, which is still there today, was in Athens.
Nike was very much connected to the Olympics. Greek legend says that Zeus would send her to Earth to crown the victors of the games. There is a statue of Nike in the Museum of Olympia. It was created in 421 BC by a famous sculpture of that time, Paeonios. The statue is almost ten feet tall and is awe inspiring in her appearance of descending from the higher realms. Even during recent times, Nike has been honoured at the Olympics.
From the year the games were renewed,

1896 Nike was featured on one side of the medal giving to winning athletes

When the monster Typhoeus laid siege to Olympos, all the gods fled except for Zeus.
Zeus was alone, when Nike came to comfort him, scoring the high paths of the air with her shoe. She Gathered all the weapons left by all the Gods and rallied him to Victory without her help zeus
would not have defeated Typhoeus who wanted to destroy the human race and consume them as his food source.
the battle was Epic and shook the Foundations of the Earth in the end Typhoeus was Defeated

The anniversary of this victory was celebrated on the festival day of September 28 and involved games and merrymaking

Nike is also the Goddess of athletes she dissaproved of cheaters in sport games
to honor Nike win or lose is to play with honor and not cheat
Also of Lost Sailors helped them find Thier way home.
The Goddess Nike watches Every Battle looking for those who fight with honor and make them victorious in battle. and to give those who have fallen in battle comfort and to Rally Good over Evil
She is a Defender of Justice and good .
During World war 1 and world war 2 many Soliders at the beach at Normeady claimed to have
seen a Winged woman appear and tend the wounded smile and tell them they would be Victorious then vanish.

She is the WAR Cry in battle for Victory and justice and Good for man to triumph over Evil is an important Goddess which we see everyday
