The original “Obama Girl” is lukewarm on Barack Obama’s re-election, but contraception activist Sandra Fluke is ready to promote the president and his agenda.

Fluke, whom the president publicly defended and consoled when radio giant Rush Limbaugh characterized her as a “slut” in March, endorsed Obama over GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney Thursday.

“Obama is committed to rebuilding our economy upon the values of fairness and opportunity and the belief that all Americans, both men and women, must have the rights they deserve,” Fluke wrote in aCNN op-ed. “That’s why I’m proud to endorse his re-election.”

In her unsurprising endorsement, Fluke recalled the Limbaugh incident and explained how it informed her understanding of the current political landscape.

“I could never have predicted just how intensely personal this election would become. When I was publicly attacked for testifying before members of Congress, I became even more keenly aware that the rights that generations of women fought so hard to achieve could be rolled back easily,” recalled Fluke. “That began a national conversation that I believe highlighted President Barack Obama and former Gov. Mitt Romney’s vastly different values and visions.”

Fluke explained that she gravitates more toward Obama’s way of thinking than to Romney’s, claiming with Obama-style talking points that the presidential challenger would “strip health care coverage from the more than 6.6 million young Americans” and “make college more expensive for young people.”
