It makes perfect sense. Even the school bus drivers should be included. I do think that they should have a mental evaluation to make certain that they are mentally fit before they are hired. I think if the school bus driver had been armed when that little boy was kidnapped, he could have taken out the kidnapper.

My daughter's high school has two security guards, but I often wonder about their effectiveness as she tells me how the gang violence is allowed to continue. Some brutal fights are not stopped because these Barney Fifes are afraid of retaliation.

i've finally realized something in this country that does't exist in others except for britain.
we have tabooed guns and the human body. we, kids included, we not go blind seeing their parents or sibling nude. kids will not die if we teach them to respect guns and the rights of other people.
lets quit tabooing everything and start teaching our kids basic survival knowledge instead of expecting our schools to do it for us. lets be parents instead of babysitters for the schools.

Our local high school has two 'rent a cops'. They are totally ineffective and to be quite frank, are also similar to our local police.

I actually agree with this to a certain degree.
The second best way to prevent shootings in a school is to have officers or troops guarding it.
The best way is to have x-ray machines. Can't get past an x-ray machine with a gun.

Actual x-ray machines, like they use at hospitals that lets you see bones and outlines of 'items' that you might be carrying. NOT the body scanners that they've been using in airports that lets everyone see you butt naked.

I believe in 2nd amendment, and the right to have guns. But I also believe in being able to go to places are guaranteed gun free. Schools for instance would be a great place to have the x-ray machines. No one is getting in with a gun. There is absolutely NO way anyone could get in to shoot a bunch of kids.

I would LOVE to join the army. I just have to get in decent shape first.

I'm not sure... Of course i love veterans and what they have done for their countries... but to put a person who has been the wartime, and has witnessed every type of horror humanity can conjure up, in a building full of children... I'm not sure if it will be the greatest atmosphere. I'm not saying a veteran is dangerous, because of course they aren't dangerous to be around, i'm just saying that those who survive wartime tend to come back with all kinds of mental illnesses, particularly PTSD. It's a good idea, but i'm not entirely sure if it is the smartest thing to do with violence in schools. Read the book All Quiet on the Western Front if you want to know more about what goes on in wartime, if you've never actually served in one yourself.
