"SafeLink Wireless is a government supported program that provides a free cell phone and airtime each month for income-eligible customers."

I didn't believe it, so I called the contact telephone number on the SafeLink site. I did not get a person, however sure enough if you go through the auto assistant like I did. If I qualify in this area's Zip Code i can get a free cell phone 68 free minutes and guaranteed no bills "ever."

This is like experiencing having been the victim of a "pick pocket bump" I did not feel it but Obama stuck his hand in my pocket, went in my wallet and took money out of it to pay for someone else cell phone. Amazing how Socialism works.
stuck hand pocket wallet money pay cell phone socialism works
What next from this administration? Who is going to pay for this, and how much will it cost? Are you ready to pay for this, like you did the ‘cash for clunkers’ tax dollar giveaway?
You!

    About the FCC Lifeline Program

Over twenty years ago, (in 1984 under Ronald Regan) the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) created the Lifeline Program to help guarantee Universal Service in the US. The Lifeline Program provides discounted telephone service to low-income families and individuals that otherwise would find it difficult to pay for telephone service. To qualify for Lifeline Support, Families or individuals have to be either enrolled in a State social service program or qualify under the U.S. Federal Poverty Guidelines. Eligibility varies by state.

In April 2008, the FCC approved TracFone as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier (ETC) to provide Lifeline Service in 11 states. Subsequently, TracFone has been approved in an additional 9 states and is currently providing service in 19 states. Today, there are over 1,700 ETC’s providing Lifeline service throughout the United States.
    HOW SAFELINK WORKS

Instead of receiving a monthly telephone bill for your Lifeline service, SafeLink converts the total amount of discounted service (approximately $13.50 of discounted telephone service) into minutes (68 minutes) each month. Through our service you will receive FREE cellular service, a FREE cell phone, and FREE Minutes every month! SafeLink Wireless Service does not...

When I look at my phone bill - i have two seperate charges - one for Federal Universal Service Fund and one for AR High Cost Fund Assessment. If It is a fund - do I have to support it? I understand tax but not fund.

You need to open your eyes.....this is copied directly from their website....It States clearly,

"The cell phone is NOT subsidized by the federal government and is provided by TracFone to the customer at no cost."

It also says the program has been providing low cost phone service to low income for 20 plus years.....George Sr. was in power then or Reagan perhaps. And some states don't have access to it. And Wowee...68 minutes free.

It's the same program and website you provided....Do you know what a subsidy is??? Just about as good as your "click on link below"....Mr. Phuckoo. If you go to the website you provided, and click on "learn," how apropo? Then it explains that TracFone(a company) is the provider of the free Phone,(and the US Gov't doesn't pay for it) it Is NOT subsidized.

to subsidize (third-person singular simple present subsidizes, present participle subsidizing, simple past and past participle subsidized)

(transitive) To assist someone or something by granting a subsidy

Oh you're so fkn smart. You should run for office. If you believe this:
The cell phone is NOT subsidize by the federal government and is provided by TracFone to the customer at no cost.
Then you're really enjoying the Sht/dog you posted on a previous post.

    And you believe him too.

I didn't see one thing about free cell phones on the video....All politicians use rhetoric....Click learn Ed.....all the information is contained in my post and still you refuse to see. How does your lying make you better than Obama? If you are going to make claims...you need to be able to prove them up. It is a complete lie and a distortion to say our government is giving away free phones when Tracfone is the one that is giving them away. So, no amount of nasty name calling and cutesy videos will make your claim true, None.
