For one thing, Ryan has no significant private-sector experience.
Besides summer jobs working at McDonald’s or at his family’s
construction company, or waiting tables as a young Washington staffer,
Ryan has none of the business-world experience Romney frequently touts
as essential for governing. In the run-up to his first campaign for
Congress, in 1998, that gap was enough of a concern for Ryan that he
briefly became a “marketing consultant” at the family business, an
obvious bit of résumé puffing.

But Ryan’s Washington experience is also light, at least for a
potential President—which, after all, is the main job description of a
Vice-President. Ryan has worked as a think-tank staffer and Congressman,
but he’s never been in charge of a large organization, and he has
little experience with foreign policy. Given how Sarah Palin was
criticized for her lack of such experience, I’m surprised that Romney
would pick someone whose ability to immediately step into the top job is
open to question

If you remove the........ ("But Ryan’s") from this statement,

"Washington experience is also light, at least for a potential President—which, after all, is the main job description of a Vice-President. Ryan has worked as a think-tank staffer and Congressman, but he’s never been in charge of a large organization, and he has little experience with foreign policy. Given how Sarah Palin was criticized for her lack of such experience, I’m surprised that Romney would pick someone whose ability to immediately step into the top job is open to question."

You would swear the New Yorker was talking about 0bama. It is funny that suddenly
the New Yorker, and no doubt the NYT, focus upon "experience as a quality necessary
in a potential POTUS" and focus on "never being in charge of a large organization",
"has little experience with foreign policy", and has the "ability to immediately step into the top job is open to question." Wow, all of these characteristics they think are
so important now were not even considered when 0bama was the candidate.

The New Yorker and NYT used to be quality journalism........... but now they
are just a propaganda arm of the Progressive Liberal 0-bots!

Shame on you both, and shame on you 0-bots who are trying to use this to
promote the reelection of the most incompetent POTUS ever!

Isn't this the same attack mechanism they used on Sarah Palin? Then we found out she really was more qualified than the current Wh inhabitant is. We knew these vile attacks were going to happen, they have nothing else to go on.

Obama campaign are running scared. Ryan can and will suceed. Obama didn't know a thing about forgein policy when he took president, and it shows, but Ryan is not running for president. I think he will help inspire the Romney campaign. He is NOTHING like Obama.

Oddly the happy load of crap pushers already had the head line written, with a note on the copy page "insert name here", same headlines they used with RR "the actor", oddly silent on the VIP Shoes in the Mouth Joe BitMe, whose experience included the "brain storming session" (an oxymoron for Joe) where he wanted to "just send" the Iranians a check for $100 million without preconditions, "to show them we really were "nice guys". Now that is the kind of "guy" that any of the lunatics on the left feels "has significant private-sector experience". So far Joe "ain't" doing so good on the "foreign policy experience" nor has he been able to keep his foot out of his mouth, ever.

Can we have an "Amen" for the East Coast liberal elite writer who was assigned the job of "crafting" the "insert Republican name here" article......I'm guessin' that Jayson Blair finally found a job.

    "Researchers Find a 'Liberal Gene'
ScienceDaily (Oct. 28, 2010) — Liberals may owe their political outlook partly to their genetic make-up, according to new research from the University of California, San Diego, and Harvard University. Ideology is affected not just by social factors, but also by a dopamine receptor gene called DRD4. The study's authors say this is the first research to identify a specific gene that predisposes people to certain political views...."
