Excellent points indeed ..
I value far more good minds ..
Madame Marie Curie
Copernicus

never was one to idolize the 'celeb' or that style ..
The myth of "cool".

When I was young I was intrigued by anyone and anything considered cool. Then I grew up and realized that some things had true value and it wasn't always the things that people considered cool. We seem to be a society based on pop culture and false value. How much better would we be as a society if we stopped worshiping false prophets? How much better would we be as people if we valued real genius, like someone who cures something instead of the actor that merely pretends to be someone else?
What is your idea of cool?

Unless you mean, these awesome humanitarian pioneers? (They're in disguise)!
hehe
"If tomorrow all the things were gone, / I'd worked for all my life. / And I had to start again, / with just my children and my wife. / I'd thank my lucky stars, / to be livin ..."
Softly but steadily increasing we realize that the entire restaurant is spontaneously singing along. Waitresses humming, tattooed bikers, the girl mopping the floor. The family with the whiny kids, now happily singing...
"And I'm proud to be and American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me."
The louder it got, the more smiles appeared as people glanced around and then joined in.
The song always brings tears to my eyes...by now I'm crying like a baby!
Happy Memorial Day!
We will have to find a way outta here...
I always valued intelligence and a sense of honor more than popularity.
I guesss that is why Sean Connery was always my favorite actor he remained cool headed in the face of danger.
All to often people vote for politicians as if they were choosing a Prom King instead of a good leader.
well, to be honest, not me.
To thine own self be true. Cool.
Thirst for discovering and expanding your world. Cool.
To leave the herd and go forward on your own. Coo.l (but don't let the lions get you)
Allowing others to march to their own drummer. Cool.
To strive to better yourself. Cool.
To be the person your dog thinks you are. Way beyond cool.
Look Mommy, Daddy's "cool", just chill'n on the "Barf Couch" which earned its name early in the first trimester when a freshman across the hall from Obama [in the Haines Hall Annex dorm at Occidental College] drank himself into a stupor and threw up all over himself and the couch. In the manner of pallbearers hoisting a coffin, a line of Annexers lifted the tainted sofa with the freshman aboard and toted it out the back door and down four steps to the first concrete landing on the way to the parking lot. A day later, the couch remained outside in the sun, resting on its side with cushions off (someone had hosed it clean), and soon it was back in the hallway nook.
