Quoting the article:
"A new study conducted at Harvard University shows that in America,
Liberals have a significantly lower IQ than Conservatives. The study was
conducted on 100,000 registered voters in 40 different states over the
last twelve years, and has concluded its results.
The first part of the study lists the correlation between political
beliefs and intelligence. Subjects of the study were chosen at random
and requested to come to an unmarked van to take a test and answer some
questions for a reasonable amount of money.
Of the 100,000 people, there were people from many doctrines, from
conservative to liberal to marxist to fascist. Socialists came out on
bottom, with an average IQ of 87. The second worst were Liberals and
then Marxists, with 88 and 89 respectively. Conservatives received an
average score of 110, which is significantly above average. "
Also,
"
Other parts of the study included the daily activities of the various
people based on their doctrines. Apparently, Liberals are five times
more likely to commit a crime, steal or cheat on a test than anybody
else except for Socialists, 52% of which have committed a major felony
while being watched. Conservatives not only did not commit any crimes,
but they actually prevented them, as the few events where a Conservative
was threatened by a thief or mugger was hindered by a concealed
handgun. Also, Communists are the most likely to commit rape or sexual
assault, second to socialists.

mwg0735 2012/06/14 15:32:33This should come as a surprise to no conservative that participates in SH

and 99% of all the issues with obama are policy based and he'd be just as hated if he was a white guy.
But hide behind racism it is a founding value of the Democratic party being the political wing of the Klu Klux Klan. not like you've learned any thing.
I am inclined to think Harvard knows how to do research in an unbiased manor

Even so, I wouldn't be surprised whether or not this article was true. However, stats often lie and that is why I chose to ignore it.
and just so you know, on average, conservatives have a lower iq than democrats. you guys were just really happy to have one last hope to cling to. sorry to disappoint you.
idiots.

there are a bunch more of these studies. just say the word and i'll provide you with more.
have a good day.
And this is the main reason why I hold a conservative belief. That and I'm for traditional marriage...
Once a conservative decides something "works" it takes more than a crowbar to get them to even consider an alternative. Liberals can't help but explore alternatives.
Conservatives love a highly structured life full of rules and traditions. Liberals lean towards breaking rules and creating new traditions.
Conservatives want to think of everything as right or wrong. They are decisive and see indecisiveness in a person as a fault or a weakness. Liberals see decisiveness as an inability to explore and improve, as an inability to understand nuance.
A conservative is more likely to notice and care about, "breaking the rules", like "If you're going to say ..., then at LEAST learn grammar." A liberal is less likely to care about spelling or grammar errors, in themselves, or in others.
A conservative wants to understand what's good and bad. "free market == GOOD', "Socialism equal Communism equal BAD". There is no middle ground for a good conservative. Everything must be either good, or bad, there is no gray area.

Every country in the world is currently a mix of both free markets and socialism. There is not a single country that is totally capitalistic, or totally socialistic. But a good conservative is typically unwilling to accept either that this is true, or that it could be a good thing to find just the right mix of capitalism and socialism. To a conservative, creating a "mix" is a sign of being indecisive and weak.
We live in a democracy and must all find a way to coexist. I'm a bleeding liberal. I have a high IQ. But I also understand my IQ does not mean that the world I want to live in, is the "right" world for everyone. Anyone born with a highly conservative mind (low IQ or high IQ), will like to see their world structured differently than someone like me - that has a very liberal mind. A highly conservative mind is attracted to a world of absolutes, and rules. They prefer that type of world. They prefer that type of thinking. I don't. So we have to find some place in the middle to meet.
Low IQ people tend to be more attracted to the conservative way of thinking, they tend to like simple absolute ideas. But I know some extremely high IQ conservatives as well (much higher than my own IQ). They form extremely complex absolute views of reality due to the nature of how their brain works. Once they form opinions, they defend them as if their life depended on it. But instead of understanding reality as a lots of complex probabilities and unknowns, they tend to believe everything is black and white - true or false, known or unknown. They very notion that we the best we can do is assign a probability to an idea, is inherently unsettling to them.
A conservative reading what I wrote above, would likely conclude I was trying to argue for only two types of brains. A liberal reading what I wrote above, would understand our brains exist on a continuum with the most conservative on one end, and the most liberal on the other end, but with everyone falling somewhere between the two extremes. Conservatives like simple two valued answers like that, but liberals are content with the uncertainty.
Although I no longer recognize myself as a conservative, I can still argue that conservatives tend to use their heads a bit more than liberals do. Granted, there are some highly intelligent liberals, but they never really took the time to see how history has worked with politics. Every single time that a country has gone where ours is going now - let us just say that that country either collapsed or is on the verge of collapsing.
UCLA and another university also did studies on which party is more easily frightened and both results not surprisinlgy clearly indicated it was the cons. No surprise there as guess which group are the war hawks? The cons. When you perceive that there are more threats then you're much more likely to favor a militant response to what they threat is.
I shall tell you myself. Regardless of whether one gets frightened easier than another person, what matters is the one who has the courage to stand up in that fear. What matters is that the courageous one will stand up for the best - that they will confront the one who is not as easily frightened.
You are in the fog with a friend. Suddenly, your friend can see through the fog with ease. He/she is frightened by a creature that lurks within that fog. He/she gives you directions of how to handle this situation. You can either believe them or risk the chance of death. If you choose not to believe them, then of course you will not be frightened. But in the end, your friend that stayed by your side continuously trying to guide you until the moment that you died was the courageous one - even if they were the one who was frightened and not you.
There is a difference between fear and courage, my friend. Someday maybe you will see this truth.
