Homosexuality in the Bible
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. -- Lev.20:13

Genesis
God kills everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah. 19:4-5, 24-25

Leviticus
Homosexual acts are an abomination to God. 18:22
If a man has sex with another man, kill them both. 20:13

Deuteronomy
"The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God." 22:5

1 Kings

Iin the last days people will become evil, "without natural affection." Fundamentalist say that this refers to homosexuals. 3:3

God sent "eternal fire" on the people of Sodom and Gomorrah for "going after strange flesh." 7-8


These are not the words of a loving god, they are the words of a hater and a murderous psychopath. "God" is the worst serial killer and mass murderer in history.

    When it says "...and they shall be put to death.", that tends to be interpreted as a command. Your propaganda has been spread for centuries, the only reason you're not taking the bible as literally as it used to be is because the church has modernized and therefor so has their followers. It wasn't until the 20th century before most of you even took to heart that Jesus was a Jew. The Christian Identity ideology that makes up what many of the White Supremacists believed was what was believed until the reformation of the church. Study history, they didn't burn witches for nothing.

    I can agree with the rest of what you said, but I never said Jews killed Jesus. Religion is the problem, and that include yours. Don't think Christians didn't have blood on their hands.

    Still ,nowhere in the New Testament does Jesus tell us to Kill . Nor does he even intimate such. For any reason. You are still stuck in the history. Jesus never even mentioned anything about homosexuality at all. The only references to this craven act is in the letters of Paul to the chuch at Corinth ,to the Romans and to his pupil Timothy. Never does he even advocate killing them or anyone else. Now what you got.

    No, Jesus never said to kill anyone, but the problem is that Christians don't always follow his directions. Jesus never mentioned sexuality period, but yet, according to many fundamentalists, homosexuals are unworthy of love and forgiveness. The Christians that follow the bible literally are still bitching that gay people are having rights granted to them. You'll find plenty of that in discussion on various websites of theirs.

    Ok. Doesn't mean we're all stupid enough to believe that someone who lives different than what the word says should be put to the sword. Quite the opposit. We believe in teaching and love for our fellow man. Everyone deserves a chance. Sometimes we all forget that and need a reminder.

    My problem with homosexual rights is fundamental. Why should any sexual preference get special rights? All we need are the basic human rights. Marriage is a religious union between a man and a woman. The government should not at any level be involved. Not in approval or to define. It is not a government institution. It is a covenant a man and a woman make with God. Not to the President or congress. Homosexuals can marry anyone they choose of the opposit sex. Rights for everyone should not be special.

    When is equal rights special? When a gay person asks for the right to marry his or her own partner, how is that a special right? It's the same rights given to men and women partners. We don't want to marry someone of the opposite sex, it wouldn't mean a damn thing to us if we just did it to conform to social norms. What is the point? It would be nothing more than a relationship of obligation – which is what marriage was originally about anyway. Thousands of years ago, marriage was a contract to join two separate tribes as one. Even during the days when the Catholic church ruled the land, royal families married their young to join families together, even if those being put together had no choice or really had no feeling for each other. One known example of redefining marriage is it is now between couples who choose to marry out of love, not because their parents chose them to be together since childhood. Another is a marriage between couples of different faiths, which was forbidden by different churches and often many followers still look down upon it.

    Many people nowadays get married for benefits in addition to actual love for each other, regardless if they hold a religious belief. If you get married and don't receive a marriage license, it's not a legal marriage. It would be nothing more than a figment of the imagination like prayer and miracles. If the likes of you had things your way, marriage wouldn't be legal unless it was done in a place of worship.

    I for one don't care, as I don't plan to get married. There are those who wish to get married because of the benefits that they would otherwise have to work with a lawyer to get. There are gay Christians, Jews or of other faiths, so to them it is a marriage in the traditional sense. Another benefit is that their foreign partner would be able to have an easier time gaining legal residency. If you married your non-American wife without a legal certificate, she could be deported when her visa runs out. You may be married in the eyes of God, but to the state, you're just partners living under the same roof and if you have children and something causes you to separate, it could be a long time before you can see your children.

    Forgive me if I'm wrong but, I thought living wills ,civil unions or a will would allow for most anything a marriage contract would provide. My marriage is liscened by the state. I don't agree with this practice either. I think a marriage contract between 2 people should be enough. I never wanted a state recognized marriage but, my wife wanted my name and that was the only legal way. Whatever did we do before the government stuck their nose into the churches business? I can't imagine. How did all the black slaves keep track? I remember this, what God has joined ,no man can put asunder. That is important to me. Not the state sanctioned vows. Sometimes I think I was born 150 years too late. I really don't feel at home here .

    Because when Jesus died on the cross ,all things old were stopped and we started anew. We no longer sacrifice goats or sheep. Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb the Old Testament refered to. We live according to the New Testament. The Old Testament is only a history Book. To remember how we got where we are now. Also a book of genealogy for the jews. Shows Jesus's lineage all the way back to Adam. The Old Testament is not being ignored. We just know that we are to live according to the Teachings of Jesus. No man comes to the FAther except through me. Jesus said that. Nowhere in the New Testament does Jesus tell us to kill anyone for any reason.

    These references are all from the Old Testament. The Old Testament was the legalism of the Bible. Things changed when Jesus died for our sins. The New Testament tells us to love thy neighbor and do not judge. If God has a problem with people being gay, then he will deal with them in time. Until then, it's none of my business!

    I thought God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of adultery, rape and dishonesty. Well when i read that part, that's what i understood. Religion is a path to God, and often its teachings are CHANGED for selfish reasons. No holy book teaches hate or murder, in my opinion. People just always find a reason to hate and to kill.

    Once upon a time, doctors did blood-letting from George Washington thinking it was a way of curing him. By today's standards, the act seems ridiculous, but nonetheless still part of our history. If we erased all the stupid from our past, we would never have a chance to learn from it. Christian churches such as mine, study the New Testament but realize there are still many lessons to be learned from the old. The problem arises when Christians dwell on the old and ignore the new.

Jesus told us to love, not hate as the OT stuff she posted. She missed the point of being a Christian. It's a mistake many Christians make, I'm sorry to say.     I'm trying my best to get the message out. If people focused more on Jesus it would end all of the BS!! He was cool and just wanted everyone to get along. Some Christians do him a severe injustice the way they speak. After all, he was the one who said "he who is WITHOUT sin, cast the first stone" simple phrase but too many tend to forget it.     I attend a non-denominational Christian church. We reference the OT occassionally for the legalism of the Bible, but put much more focus on the NT. After all, once Jesus Christ came into the world, things changed. It's what makes us "CHRISTians". If you're studying your Bible you realize Jesus took exception to many of the laws previously written in the OT. Thank you very much but I will remain focused on Jesus' teachings.
