I wonder if they are going to take care of our Men and women who serve.Or If this military spending will go to the Chemical coorperations,Fortunate Sons.etc.
This is why Kennedy was assasinated.
Still I wonder what social programs are getting cut? Will those who are in office that say they stand for social programs use that money for what they claim it is for.Or will they waste it,abuse it,or just flat out steal it?

I doubt they will cut the military, their cuts will be aimed at the poor. They want to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. They are planning to cut funds to education. And all women's health plans will be sliced in half.

But they sure won't increase taxes on the 1%, they gotta keep those guys happy, and the heck with the rest of us.

That's what we have to look forward to if Romney is elected President.

They should have killed the system a long time ago. Now there are more of them than there are of you. Pull the plug and these people don't just disappear and not all of them are lazy asses and have worked 30-40 years or more. You better start building a fortress around you, the clock is ticking. I hope our trillion-dollar military comes to your aid. But you only make $100,000 a year so you're just as expendable as the rest of the middle class was. Watch out, you can be pulled from that pedestal at any moment either by those below you or those above you, a health issue or a bad accident. I've seen it happen to people I know and they were once as ignorant as you but are now humbled and less judgmental. I hope you don't have to be bitch slapped hard like some have to see where I'm going here and that I am right.

Gee, you want the 14 trillion in debt-Obama's making-to be fixed by the Republican's? You want to continually make stupid statements about Republicans? Everything you say sounds more like Obama & pals. He's out helping all the Arabs-giving them billions of money we don't have-Why? It's taxpayer money! I don't want it going to Muslim countries who've sworn to kill us! Wake up bob!

blame game, blame game, blame game. Obama has had 3 1/2 years to fix the economy-instead the national debt has risen $ 5 trillion since he's been in office! And he hasn't, in all this time, come up with a workable economic strategy. So just imagine what someone will inherit after his term? $14 trillion in debt, & climbing, & Obama is responsible.

So, what social programs would be cut due to (what) boosts in military spending? Well?
  • TheFigh... Gunner 2012/05/08 15:07:35
    TheFightingPanties
Medicaid, food assistance programs, and social security would receive massive cuts while military weapons building and development would get a huge windfall. There are more s.w.p. that would get cuts and more military ones that'd get boosts but those are the ones I can remember specifically off the top of my head.

So, you're saying that "social programs" are of higher priority than our National defense and security? Twisted. Oh, by the way, did you know that there are servicemembers and their families who are living at or below the poverty level? Of course not. Well, where's their "social program"?
  • TheFigh... Gunner 2012/05/11 16:38:06 (edited)

all I did was answer your question of what would get cut and what would get the benefits. Last I heard it was one in three on welfare were veterans or had a service member in their immediate family. Many veterans also use the same social welfare programs and the head generals have supported the proposed cuts. I wish they'd put some of the 'defense' budget towards helping veterans then building yet another plane or ship when we already out gun every other country four to one when you combine them.

Obama's at the controls, not Romney. Social programs are always targeted, but it doesn't happen. What''s Obama's plan to cut back on his 14+trillion in debt?

When Obama started in office, gas was $1.83 gal.
When Egypt was in civil unrest, Obama gave them $1.3 BILLION! In spite of the fact that radical Islamist The Muslim Brotherhood were lined up to take over, including the possibibility of instituting Sharia Law, which is a threat to women. Sharia law says it's ok to stone women!

Where did the $1.3 billion go? Obama let it get in the hands of the radical Islam extremists!
Do we have billions to pass out? Evidently, Obama & Clinton think so, in spite of the 14 trillion in debt, & Obama not coming up with an economic plan.

Obama is not supporting the Arizona Sheriff who is trying to enforce the laws of his state, in fact, he's having the Justice Debt. sue our guy! What's wrong with the picture here?
  • TheFigh... syl 2012/05/11 16:48:15
    TheFightingPanties
I never said I supported everything Obama has done, but it is a Republican controlled House and Senate. Obama has no control over what the oil companies decide to charge.

As for Obama not backing our sheriff, isn't that the same guy who heads the 'birther' movement that claims to not believe Obama isn't really American? Not to mention he was just on the news for racial profiling. It seems if he wanted Obama's support he'd not be so antagonistic.
  • syl TheFigh... 2012/05/11 21:37:53
    syl
There's enough patty-cake under the table with the powers that be, to do whatever they want with the oil prices. It's BS. The US could have capped the gusher in our gulf if they wanted to, way before 60 some days, plus Obama 1st said he wouldn't sign the pipeline deal, & has now switched. (he always switches) America can produce enought of it's own oil, so why doesn't Obama go in that direction, instead of relying on all the foreign oil-including giving billions to Brazil?

You have got to be kidding, that you don't support Arizona's Sheriff? because he doesn't believe-along with thousands, or millions of Americans-that Barry Soetoro's really does have an authentic birth record? And racial profiling? Seriously? How would you try to ENFORCE your own STATE'S LAWS, on the border, to keep ILLEGAL immigrants, & drug dealers from over-running your state?

    Wake up, wake up!

I'll agree Obama switches. Like when he also said he wouldn't sign NDAA, and then turned immediately around and did it.

He has mistreated American citizens who were under no warrants and hadn't done anything wrong. Here, have a link to a news site of the top ten complaints against him; http://thinkprogress.org/just...

but you know it's not like our country was founded by a bunch of people who showed up out of no where on a boat or anything who looked nothing like the other people they found there. Good thing that, or this might be a really awkward conversation.

Now Obama's switched on another issue-Now he's FOR gay marraige, when in '08 he stood for DOMA-marraige between one man & one woman. How disgusting that he changes his stance on anything, for votes!

So I looked at the complaints, & I wrote a comment there. Basically it's bunk. If you want the lengthier version, you can read it there. I can imagine I'll get a lot of flak.
  • TheFigh... syl 2012/05/18 05:25:14
    TheFightingPanties
well, his job is to serve the people, and if that is what the people want then... But NDAA was very unpopular with every one who read anything about it outside of an elected office.

I really don't have much time for wading through goodness only knows how many comments to find the one that might be yours. You can't copy/paste it? Although I would like to note I have yet to be disappointed in think progress' reporting. Rarely do they make mistakes and when they do a correction is posted within a day, two max, so...

I posted the comment on that news website you gave me, so it should be about at the top of the list for that article. Mine will have a orange VW Van pic (front view), so easy to spot.

Obama is a bait & switch. He gets elected on saying what he stands for-then when he's in-based on those stands-he switches them, & says he stands for something else. Bad, bad, bad, bad!

And those issues are not what the whole population wants, so if he's there to serve the people, he needs to get into reality for waht they really want!

they get lots of comments. LOTS. And if you don't think it's important enough to copy/paste then (which is seriously not that hard) then why should I consider it important enough to look for, and debate with you?

This is why I trust NO politicians.

Trying to get EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE COUNTRY to agree on something is like trying to herd a hundred cats in the same direction at once. Possible in theory but the amount of time, effort, and energy expended would negate any benefit. All one can do is what is wanted and best for the most people.

I double checked where my comment is, in the website you gave me-it's at the top-easier for you to find-you CAN'T miss it.
Believe it or not, I don't know how to copy & paste, so if you care to read my full answer, you don't have to wade through anything.

If you can't expend any time, effort, & energy, in answering anything, perhaps you shouldn't be on SH.

Even using taxpayers money-blatantly-for his campaign, until finally the Republicans said something about it. He thinks he can do whatever he wants, & he tries to get away with it. Our country is being programmed to let blacks have whatever they want, & do whatever they want. I'm not racist-I'm for equality-which is what the rules are suppose to be, but instead we have a big mess in america, where everybody else is getting stepped on, so they can move right on up to the front of the line!

It doesn't matter one way or the other. The point is The Arizona Sheriff wants illegals to be gone and enter the legal way, not illegally. Isn't that the current law on immigration, and why doesn't the President of our Country back the law instead of what he is currently doing???????????

that is so far and away from what is happening to these people I can not even contemplate how you got there. How is something that you have consented to as a condition for the airline to allow you to travel with them the same as having police break into your home and arrest you because your skin is a few shades darker then their's? Do you ever have to worry that they are going to think you must have forged your papers because you speak Spanish better then English? Or how about the simple insult of being assumed a criminal at first site in spite of never having committed any crime in your life, and the only reason people ever thinking so is because of being of Hispanic descent?

    missed the point
