Everyone knows it is the socialist programs that got them in trouble to begin with.
Returning to socialism will not solve their problems.
The French who were doing fair but not good. under a center right govt have elected a socialist- will they do better or worse?

There was also much alarmist talk before the election of Francois Mitterrand, France's first Socialist president. "I was young, but I remember at the time people said Soviet tanks would arrive on the Place de la Concorde." ( senator Serge Dassault ). Did not happen.
So far there has been much talk but no evidence so far that they are packing their bags. Wealthy French had already shifted their primary residences to Geneva and other Swiss towns long before this election.
Returning to socialism will not solve their problems.
As a conservative, I have no doubt that it will be ineffective but it will be a good test of the two theories. I'm confident in my beliefs.
