The city of DETROIT will go broke in a week. Where are all these politicians that caused this? Where are the city UNIONS that caused this? Does any one care?

Ah yes, that once beautiful city of Detroit, is going down the tubes. But no one is blaming the politicians that caused all of this. Why would anyone that was earning a salary in private industry would want to leave their city? Because of the taxes that these politicians where putting on them. After all, these city employees were getting more and more tax payer money, because these politicians and the unions made an agreement, a long time ago, that kept the politicians and the unions in place.

I thought De-Troit WAS BROKE a long time ago. All I've heard that seems to be truthfully spoken about Detroit is that it's turned into a big ghetto ghost town. I don't know how anyone living there could even survive.

Detroit has been declining for years because of missmanaged companies which have union representatives. The politicians are buddy-buddy to the unions so they can be elected by promising whatever the unions want.

Detroit put all its eggs in one basket. Decades ago they began losing their place in the car industry. Top sellers became Honda etc. More reliable, held their resale value higher, better mileage etc. US designers were bad, old-fashioned and they had this "you can't touch us" mentality. Detroit should have diversified. When oil went down in the past, Houston suffered the same thing because it relied on oil too much. It learned its lesson, diversified and now oil isn't even the main industry here. It's not about politicians at all.

Detroit broke in a week? I thought it's been broke for years. I was there about 3 years ago and rented a car after arriving at a small satellite airport. It literally looked like Hiroshima after the war.

That's what I thought. I don't know anywhere else in the country where you can buy a house for as little as $250.00. YES, two HUNDRED and fifty dollars. The city is a ghetto.

What no one is saying and it should be said, that when these politicians kept increasing the taxes, they had no idea that eventually, the money will dry up. So, rather than admitting that they made a mistake, they will find somebody else to balme
