We shall never forget the 343 Firefighters who died on that day

FIREFIGHTER'S PRAYER

When I'm called to duty God wherever flames may rage
grant me the strength to save a life whatever be its age

Help me to embrace a little child before it is too late
or save an older person from the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently put the fire out

I want to fill my calling Lord and give the best in me
to guard my every neighbor and protect his property

And if according to your will I am to lose my life
God bless with your protecting hand my children and my wife

protect property lose life god bless protecting hand children wifeprotect property lose life god bless protecting hand children wife

"The Blood of Heroes to remind people that everything we enjoy in America today is the result of someone's sacrifice, that it is constantly threatened - and that
it is still worth fighting for.” We must be reminded that “the human cost
that has been paid for our freedom, our safety and our luxury. A price
paid not just so you and I can vote and pray, but also so we can sit on the
couch, watching TV, having 30 minute pizzas delivered to our doors. Even if you
don't vote or pray, there is still plenty left worth fighting for.”

Think about that.

“With all the invective about “blood for oil", we are not only justified in
going to war - we were obligated to do it - and to do it in every place on this
earth that ever poses a threat to the American way of life. It isn't blood for
oil. It's blood for freedom - the blood of our heroes. We owe it to them... and
we owe it to our children. Period.

“We are lucky to live in the United States of America - and this privilege didn't
come cheap. Our Founding Fathers were not cowards. They made immense sacrifices to establish this Great Nation in freedom - not the least of which was going to war with the enemy of that freedom. All of those who have fought in the
subsequent wars and conflicts and those who are fighting today have continued
to make sacrifices in order to defend those original ideals. Even now, our
civil servants, particularly Firefighters and Police, are making sacrifices to
maintain the quality of our lives in this freedom.

“If you are not willing to do everything in your power to defend this Great Nation, even taking up arms if it is necessary, then who will? If you will not defend America, that is your choice - but sit in silence and do not criticize those brave and valiant individuals who have the sense of duty, the measure of courage and the determination of heart to protect America... and, I might add,
your cowardly soul.”

Shortly after the towers fell, the original estimate of KIA was 20,000. Not factored into the estimate was the extraordinary heroism of the New York City Firefighters and Police Officers who entered the building to assist in the evacuation -- the people who were going UP the staircases when the collapse occurred.

The bravery of these men and women is never to be forgotten. They always run to the disaster not away from it. Too many Americans have become complacent over the events of that day but the families of those who perished know what horrors their loved ones faced that day. My prayers are with them.

Thank you. So many walked into the towers that day with full intentions of saving as many as they could only to never walk back out. Their hearts and minds were only on what they could do for the people they had promised to protect.

No thanks needed my friend. I'm getting off here for the day. I've felt so many emotions in such a short time I'm drained. Need to get my mind on something else so I don't allow anger to cloud my day. Be blessed!

You don't ever tell me that we American don't have what it takes. What ever no matter what we try to do, we can do. We are one nation under God. The firefighters, and the policemen who gave their last full measure of devotion that day, they were American. They came from out of the everyday families. They were our neighbors, our friends. Most of all, our fathers, mothers, sisters, and our brothers, sons daughters. Their names surround me. I am one of them, they are one with me, Americans. They do the every day task that keeps our nation going. Aways moving into tomorrow as victors. sons daughters names surround americans task nation aways moving victors

Those words can be found in the dictionary but not in my head or heart. I am still incapable of using those words to describe the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. The atrocities perpetrated by the Japanese are just too heinous. I truly believe that our Lord is having a problem forgiving both the attack at Pearl and the attacks of 9/11.
