Okay, to be fair, I don't read Aramaic, Sanskritic, or even ancient Hebrew, so I can only offer opinion on modern translations which are neither coherent nor well written.

when one proclaims a book 'perfect without error' it is the same as calling such a book 'god' as ONLY God is perfect and without error.... it is Bible/Idol worship that many are indulging in. It is very imperfect... God alone is perfect.

True, the Bible is the eternal Word of God. Unfortunately, some folks who are supposed to be called of God to preach that word, like those in your pictures, either think the Bible doesn't apply to them, have given in to sin more than to the Word, or may have never really been called of God to begin with. When these things happen, it's always the person's fault, not the fault of the Bible or God.

In these days, there is also a great deception going on, and most if not all of the mainline denominations are going to become part of the one world religion and will turn on and persecute true Christians.

A true or false question having to do with faith is a bit...............uh............ don't ya think? And when you say the 'Bible'..do you mean the original version? There are countless versions of it and the words, meanings and consepts get misconstrued all the time. By the time you take into account how many times it's been translated over the millenia..........it's dificult to say just how much hasn't been altered in some form or another.

All well and good. But I really think he wouldn't need any version if he would just come down here and talk to us in person.
Think about it like this. When you have an important message for someone, would you really trust someone else to give it for you? I mean wouldn't that other person consider it rude if you didn't personally deliver the message?

The next time He does come, he will be calling those that have put their faith in Him home. Jesus came once and his own rejected him. It's all about faith.

I will believe it when I see it. Until then the new testament is going to remain what it actually is. Second or third hand account stories of a man who may or may not have existed. And while some of the things he supposedly said are good the idea of having to submit ones self to his will is silly, to me. If this floats your boat that is very good to me. As long as you aren't going to start throwing fire and brimstone my way we will be fine.
  • O'Grady bookworm42 2009/07/30 23:40:42
    O'Grady
You're right about that. You will believe it when you see it, but by then it may be too late. The Bible says "Every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." Although the Bible is the only book completely inspired by God, many other books from many different countries have been written over the years that support that Jesus did live in the region and at the time spoken about in the Bible. It is known as fact among top scholars of the world that Jesus did live here on the Earth. Then it's only left to us to either accept that he is who he said he was, by faith, or not. The definition the Bible gives for faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." I won't be throwing any fire or brimstone at anybody, but I can't promise that it won't someday come to those who have rejected God.

Not rejecting God. I just question his existence. I don't see how that could be construed as a sin. There are no stupid questions right? And yes many of the top scholars agree that a man named Jesus existed. As a matter of fact they agree that many men named Jesus existed in the time of Christ. It was a common name then.

Hi friend. I just wanted to try to shed a little light here. It's true that the Bible has been altered many times, but the true, unaltered word has always survived through it all. It began in Hebrew, then to Greek, then English, etc. I believe that in these original translations to each language, the hand of God was in them. It's when each of these "original" translations are altered by man, that we get into trouble. I speak and read English, so the "original" translation for me is the "authorized King James Version" of 1611. All the other English versions out there have come from this version, but have been altered to suit men's wishes. These versions and those like them are full of errors such as deleted scriptures and altered scriptures. I tend to believe that if the God of the universe was capable of creating the universe and offering himself in the form of his Son, he is also capable of preserving his one, true Word. You were right. It's all about faith. Faith in God's Son's sacrifice saves us, and faith in his word guides us.

I'd agree it's the faith in Christ and that personal relationship with God ( which in my case often goes like a father son relationship and I tell Him what I think...before He lets me know which one of us is God and which one of us isn't) is more important that the written and translated word itself.

I agree that our relationship with God should be a personal one. When God sent his Son to pay for our sins, it gave us the ability to speak to God the Father directly through Jesus. Jesus is our mediator between us and God. Without study of the authorized Word though, we would be left to our own devices, without spiritual direction. God does work with us directly, but left us his Word as a guidebook. We have access to the mind of God through the Bible. As the Bible tells us, God expects us to "study to show thyself approved, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth."

it is well writen i guess, but it is not consistent, too much contradictions and confusing stories. BUT that is cs it is not written by one hand, many people change things and stories during years in their favor, even the Church it self.

Check out Christopher Alam, a former muslim. He read the bible many times in order to find a lie, a mistruth, a fallacy or an error, none exist. the Bible is the inherent, inspired word of God. It's truth is eternal and it's promises secure.
