Indiana after years of fighting to hurt what is left of the Union workforce, finally got the wrongly mislabeled Right to Work law passed. Well it didn't take long and it is already producing jobs in the State of Indiana, the question is, are these the jobs we are looking for? It used to be working at a factory meant, fair wages, health care, and a decent retirement package, well not any more. Many people warned this would happen and it only took a month for it to happen. This is something that started back in the Regan era by allowing companies to move to Mexico for lower wages to force lower wages on American workers so companies can get more profit. Now it is being done from state to state, if we can bust up the good paying Union jobs, we can drop the wages and benefits, this will cause a chain reaction forcing all companies that compete with each other to do the same. Soon we will have Rich and Poor throughout the United States. There are a few countries that operate this way, the biggest one being The Republic of China, Where Corporations control all the currency and everyone else is treated like shit, this is what i like to call sweat shop labor.
Recently only weeks after Indiana Republicans lied to all the voters of how great being a Right to Work state will be and how it will create an endless supply of jobs in our state, Caterpillar Corporation decided to move a factory to Muncie Indiana. Now don't get me wrong, the factory is moving back to the United States from Canada, but there is a problem and it is called wages. In Canada many people that earn a good income and Benefit packages are all going to be out of a job and 650 jobs are going to be created in Muncie with wages starting at a wopping $12.50 an hour income. I will do the math for you. $12.50 an hour times 40 hours = $500 minus $150 in taxes = $350 a week in pay. Really? The price of gas on its way to $4 a gallon, An average family spends around $3 to $400 every other week in groceries, $700 a month in rent or a house payment, not including utilities, cost of Education and everything else you have to pay to survive, and we get a Wopping $350 a week income? How does one survive on such pay. I guess it is back to manufactured housing for many people in the state of Indiana. When i hear people say that Republicans are to make the Rich, Richer and the Poor Poorer, they were not bullshiting. Wake up America, it is almost too late

We wouldn't want the people to have those higher than minimum wage jobs and certainly don't want the state to have the tax revenue from the company and now some of the people, that the state previously did not have...
My thought is now a few more people can try to survive on an income, where as previously they had none to survive on before. At least now they have a job and are not living on the dole or living completely on the dole. That and now the state will have more money help balance it's budget.
Perhaps you are accustomed to looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I bet most of those new employees will be thankful they have something to help support themselves with.

Sorry but people like you are a dime a dozen and not worth the red cent you are given. Instead of seeing this as a transition job and improving your situation you whine and cry as if the world owes you. Well it does NOT and the Company does NOT. The Company did NOT have to move back and they did NOT have to provide your state ANY jobs. Yet you complain when the Company clearly decided to spend the cash to move itself back and as a result provide thankless folks like yourself employment options. This is clearly the actions of a spoiled brat.
Thing is your state now will get more jobs that the masses did not have and magically, we are supposed to believe this is bad?

More people can help support themselves instead of living completely off the dole, more tax money will now be available from Income and...

It is real simple:
Less Companies = Less Tax Revenues
Less Companies = Less Jobs
Less Jobs = Less Tax Revenues
Less Tax Revenues = Less Revenues to support the unemployed and those unable to completely support themselves...
Of course you are always free to elect new Gov officials and repeal the Right to Work laws and send your new jobs back across the borders leaving yourselves with crap once again.

You have to laugh at the union thug mentality, they want to use political force to hold companies hostage which will bankrupt and kill them, and then they get upset and feel forced when they have to set their victims free. LOL!
My wife and I have discussed moving to a right to work state, Arizona.
This state seems to have way too many liberals concentrated in a few cities dictating to the rest of us.
Figured as much on the tax math I knew it couldn't be $150...

Business likes to make money. As long as we have competition, the better workers will have a chance to do better as business that is successful is always seeking an edge and they will pay for talent!
FIRST off NO one goes into any business to go broke everyone goes into business to make money and hopefully make more money than they have brains.... there is NOTHING evil about profits
SECOND Jobs are taken to make wages. if you are inexperenced low skills and lacking work ethic you do NOT deserve to be paid as if you have a masters degree in engineering and 15 years experence. Be happy you were given a job and you are making money even if its $3 an hour and know the more you work the more you apply yourself and the more experence you gain the more opertunity you have to start getting paid $25 an hour
THIRD the word in case you forgot is BENEFITS and a benefit is not something you just get its something you earn you earn it with time, experence and if you get any benefits you better be thankful because your benefits often mean someone else is not hired at all.
And finially unions do nothing but drive up the price of the consumer goods they make because their costs for all their demands which are NOT rights but BENEFITS are passed on to the people who most need to buy the good being made.
Once apon a time unions served a purpose. Today they are nothing buy money stealling ungreatful power hungry political hacks and they need to be stopped and people ...

The union convinced them to go on strike and Kaiser waited them out and they all lost their jobs.
