Hemp, aka marijuana, is the largest cash crop in the US. It exceeds Corn, wheat, barley and rice in sheer dollar revenue.
Decriminlize it, Regulate it, Sell it and tax it.

Stay Safe,
It's easy to forget just how much state law can vary and if you're not aware of the
varying laws it can put you in serious danger should you choose to travel or move to
another state without knowing what their laws are.
To help you stay one step ahead of the law we're sharing with you the 5 worst states
in America to get busted with pot... these are places you want to be EXTRA cautious!
1) Oklahoma - Home to the 2 year minimum prison sentence for hash making - with
the possibility of life. Life sentences are even allowed to be handed out for cannabis
cultivation or the sale of a single-dime bag.
2) Texas - In Texas they arrest and prosecute more citizens than any other state for
pot and in 2009 a whopping 77,000 citizens for arrested for the mere possession of
marijuana. In fact - over half of all arrests in Texas are for marijuana.
3) Florida - In Florida just 20 grams of marijuana can carry a punishment of up to
one year in jail and over 20 grams can get you up to 5 years and a $5,000 fine.
4) Louisiana - 19,000 people are arrested in Louisiana every year and a recent
case of Cornell Hood II saw a 35 year old man receive life imprisonment for 4
marijuana convictions.
5) Arizona - For those without a medical marijuana licence a first time offense in
Arizona can be prosecuted as a felony and can carry up to 18 months in jail and
a massive $150,000 fine.
These extremely alarming figures go to show that something has got to change.
For the time being however, the best way to protect yourself is to stay educated.
Stay Safe,

Jan 26 2012 FITCHBURG, Mass. — A Massachusetts mother says the FBI used a chain saw to cut through her door and then held her at gunpoint for at least 30 minutes before agents realized they were conducting a raid at the wrong home. Judy Sanchez, of Fitchburg, says she awoke to heavy footsteps in the stairwell on Jan. 26 and walked into her kitchen in time to see a blade chop through her door.
She says she was held face down, on the floor, at gunpoint while her 3-year-old daughter cried in another room. It turns out agents were after the other tenant on the same floor of the multi-unit building. That tenant was suspected of dealing drugs. An FBI spokesman in Boston said Wednesday that the agency is paying for the damage. He said the arrest team was only in the wrong apartment for about 15 minutes, and that the special agent in charge at the scene repeatedly apologized for the mistake.

- George Washington, U.S. President quote on Hemp
Possession of ANY AMOUNT of marijuana by a minor (under 21) is automatically guilty of a felony offense, and can be sentenced to 1 - 4 years in prison (or juvenile facility, depending on your age) and a $5,000 fine. However, probation is usually granted for first and second time offenders. If you are arrested a third time (or if the amount of marijuana possessed is significantly over an ounce), then there is a presumption of imprisonment (meaning that, barring special circumstances, you will probably go to jail). But even without any timed served, being convicted of a felony can have long lasting effects for your rights and employment.
For adults, marijuana possession is decriminalized (meaning it is a civil citation, like a traffic ticket), so the law is considerably more lenient. Possession of any amount of marijuana is treated as a misdemeanor, and carries a $600 or $1,000 fine for the first and second offenses, respectively, but no prison sentence (though if the amount is significant, the court may prescribe drug treatment). The third offense can carry up to a year in jail, and a $2,000 fine.
Yet the governments make so much money out of it they will never make it illegal.
Even more so smoking normal cigarettes, there isnt even a benefit of 'relaxing' or 'socialising' with tobacco. it costs the tax payer millions in health care, yet again governments will not make it illegal because of the huge amount of taxation they put on it.
so why so different for the herb? the amount of money to be made on it is astronomical.
as it seems the motivation for legalisation is purely financial it doesnt make sense to keep it illegal.
Not to mention the very serious issue of medicinal value, why should people suffer and be made to use much more habit forming forms of medication when something as simple and natural as marijuana is readily growing out of the ground?
BTW I am generalising about most of the governments in the world, as I am from the UK I am not specifically discussing American policy here so please dont quote me on policy etc.
Since we choose to not control the borders, I guess States need to fend for themselves.
"No. There has never been a documented case of marijuana overdose.
In order for a human to consume enough marijuana to be fatal, they would have to consume nearly 40,000 times the amount of THC required to intoxicate them. In contrast, it only requires about 5 to 10 times the amount of alcohol required to intoxicate, to be fatal. For example, if it requires 3 beers to intoxicate you, it only requires 15 to 30 beers to kill you. However, if it takes you 3 'hits' of marijuana to intoxicate you, it would require 120,000 hits to kill you. Thus, it is virtually impossible to die of a marijuana overdose.
Further, there is NO peer reviewed scientific evidence that shows that marijuana causes brain damage. There is NO peer reviewed scientific evidence that shows that marijuana damages the reproductive system. There is NO peer reviewed scientific evidence that shows that marijuana is a gateway drug. There is NO peer reviewed scientific evidence that shows that marijuana suppresses the immune system. "

Marijuana overdose is not thought to cause serious symptoms that can result in the death of the user, and in fatal cases, death is usually due to other drugs or a medical condition of the patient. In fact, the few cases in which marijuana overdose was named as the primary cause of death are highly contested and controversial. This is mostly due to the nature and potency of marijuana. At levels where death due to an overdose of THC (the primary active chemical in marijuana) is thought to be possible, a user would have to take enormous amounts of the drug, far past what is taken for recreational purposes.
