The 5 Biggest Lies About Obama in Mitt Romney’s Michigan Victory Speech

Sinpac 2012/03/03 17:03:54
I found this article I thought I would share it.

1). Lie: Romney Claims Obama Did Nothing To Get the Economy Going

The Facts: Perhaps Romney doesn’t remember the
stimulus, which was passed early in Obama’s term and boosted employment
by 2.4 million to 3.6 million jobs. At worst, it is agreed that the
stimulus boosted employment by millions.
This was such an obvious distortion that only a Republican with their
head in the sand and their heart full of hatred for all things Obama
could believe it. The stimulus doesn’t include the 3.7 million private
sector jobs that have been created in the last 23 months.

2). Lie: Obama Thinks He Is One Of The Top Four Presidents Of All Time

The Facts: Mitt Romney said that Barack Obama thinks he is one of the top four presidents of all time, but here is what he really said to
Steve Croft on 60 Minutes, “The issue here is not gonna be a list of
accomplishments. As you said yourself, Steve, you know, I would put our
legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years
against any president — with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R.,
and Lincoln — just in terms of what we’ve gotten done in modern
history. But, you know, but when it comes to the economy, we’ve got a
lot more work to do. And we’re gonna keep on at it.”

3). Obama Thinks He Is Unchecked By The Constitution

Facts: Mitt Romney has an odd definition of constitutional. Romney considers Obama’s “unconstitutional acts” to include the 29 recess appointments
that Obama made in order to get around congressional Republican
obstruction. He also considers Obama’s appointments to the NLRB
unconstitutional, and he considers Obama’s birth control compromise
unconstitutional too. It seems that Mitt Romney thinks that anything
that Obama does that Republicans don’t like, which is everything, is
unconstitutional. The fact is that all three of the above actions were
constitutional whether Mitt Romney likes them or not.

4). Lie: Obama Wants To Raise Taxes On Small Businesses

The Facts: Mitt really must not follow current events much, because President Obama proposed a tax reduction plan that is loaded with benefits for small businesses,
including bigger tax breaks for start ups, equipment, and health
insurance costs. Obama had previously signed eight small business tax
cuts into law.

Here’s the list:

1). A New Small Business Health Care Tax Credit

2). A New Tax Credit for Hiring Unemployed Workers

3). Bonus Depreciation Tax Incentives to Support New Investment

4).75% Exclusion of Small Business Capital Gains

5). Expansion of Limits on Small Business Expensing

6). Five-Year Carryback of Net Operating Losses

7). Reduction of the Built-In Gains Holding Period for Small
Businesses from 10 to 7 Years to Allow Small Business Greater
Flexibility in Their Investments

8). Temporary Small Business Estimated Tax Payment Relief to Allow Small Businesses to Keep Needed Cash on Hand

5). Lie: Obama has offered no plan save Social Security and Medicare

The Facts: President Obama does have a plan to strengthen Social Security and Medicare. It is called not allowing the Republicans to privatize it. Obama opposes Romney’s plan to privatize Social Security and Medicare. The Obama plan involves raising the earnings cap, so that wealthy people pay more money into the system,
but the truth is that Social Security is not in any danger of collapse.
It is solvent through 2037. The mythical imminent collapse of Social
Security is a straw man designed to push the program towards
privatization.

With Romney struggling to barely carry his home state in the
Republican primary, it is no surprise that he is putting more and more
distance from the truth each time he speaks. The Romney strategy has
always been to lie in order to win, but the lies he chose to emphasize
tonight were the mark of a desperate candidate, not a future president.

Well what does anyone expect from this empty suit, that can't even get his own party behind him. That's why all these other crazies that were, or in the running now, that keep popping up one at a time to give him the jitters. He almost lost his home state to a religious extremest. He has turned 180 degrees on his political ideology. I'll bet he has pulled a few muscles with his contortions of changing his ideology.

Do you mean in the same way President George Bush's Stimulis worked. You probably also didn't realize the stimulis pay out program was already in play when President Obama took office.

The TARP fund was signed into effect during Bush's last months in office. Bush spent half of the $700 billion before leaving office, leaving Obama $350 billion. The TARP fund was money to bail out the banks and mortgage companies. Obama's economic stimulus plan was passed in Feb. 2009. It was designed to jumpstart economic growth and save jobs. Two totally separate plans.
