When you hear a noise outside your window, it’s often safe to assume it is a nocturnal animal of some sort. That’s what a Boulder, Colo., couple initially thought, until the thing entered their bedroom.

The Denver CBS affiliate reports that the wife realized the intruder was not a raccoon when their bedroom door opened in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. They yelled and warned for the intruder to leave. When the person continued toward them, the husband fired a shot.

When the lights were flipped on, it revealed a woman unknown to them. The woman was hit in the thigh and taken to the hospital.

The couple did the right thing any person that violates the sanctity of a persons home is asking for whatever happens to them the prowler is lucky the husband wasn't a better shot!

when someone enters your home with out permission ..
it usually is NOT going to end well ..
she needs to learn a lesson indeed ..
with some time .. in a JAIL Cell ..

When you enter into a person's home uninvited day or night you are at the homeowner's mercy of what happens to you next. That's the way we do it in Texas. She is so lucky she is still alive right now and lived to tell about it.

Can't say that I wouldn't have done anything different to be honest. When you break into someone's home in the middle of the night no ones going to assume that you mean them no harm. She's lucky he wasn't a better shot, I'd have aimed for center mass and wouldn't have stopped shooting until I knew the intruder was no longer a threat.

I'm glad the couple was hurt. It's a shame the shot wasn't fatal though because now the taxpayer has tp feed her and pay her medical bills.

Good thing they had a gun handy. I would have done the very same thing. Anyone with any sense would have turned around and gotten out once they were discovered unless they had some other nefarious ideas.
