Yes it is, but I live at 6,500 ft. and am always freezing my behind off. I am a warm weather person and hate this cold.

I know what you mean. My wife and I love Wyoming. But no way in hell we could take 20 feet of snow on our lawn.

Where do you live? Estes Park is my favorite piece of CO.

The one I like about Texas is that not only do you have the right to defend your own house - you also have the right to protect your neighbors house.

Being from Texas, I would say this map is pretty accurate. Good luck trying to start a war with Texans over guns. Good Luck Indeed!

We should feel sorry for them, but most are such AHoles they don't deserve sympathy. Imagine living in a place like that with all those churches on every corner and still living every moment in fear of needing to "on guard" and have your pistol handy to defend against all those who also have pistols handy to defend against ,,,,, on and on.

If you're not doing anything wrong then you have no worries. Please, don't feel sorry for us, just do us a favor and don't move here to Texas.

Believe me, I've crossed that bridge and decided to live elsewhere. Loved the homes at Round Rock and surrounding Austin, but found the weather unbearable and too many of the population there equally "unbearable". Even driving down the highways the locals seem constantly in a state of aggressions and "me first, get out of my way" attitudes as they weave in and out of traffic in their "man machines" of oversized pickups with roaring diesel engines. Scary people.

Down through the ages humans have searched for all sorts of things to replace brains. Sadly, those with the least to begin with often turn to instruments of death, such as "Racks", Guillotines, swords, spears, arrows and guns.

if enough people who want to secede moved there, they could vote it into secession. It could happen as soon as next year if enough people moved there.

Mike, can I refer you to the Pledge of Allegiance: :One Nation under God, INDIVISIBLE, with Liberty and Justice for All.

The Supreme Court ruled in Texas v White, that secession is impermissable. However, they also ruled that states have the right to dissolve if they have a right to revolution. In order to excercize a right to revolution, there must be a condition existing that affects everyone in the state and not only certain groups. It also requires the approval of all the other states. Consider it an impossiblity.

Are things really so bad there that a majority of the population would want to dissolve the Texas Constitution and all it's laws? I can only imagine that the
angry and ignorant factions that are so active and vocal there might cause such
a widespread feeling. I don't live there, but would do whatever is helpful to those
of you who want to dissolve the Lone Star. Maybe you would want to merge into
    Oklahoma?

don't think you're getting it. Texas would most likely adopt their current constitution, or a combinations of it and the US constitution. They would cease only being the "State" of Texas, and become the Nation of Texas.

The ability to secede from the Union is written into the constitution of Texas. It was one of the requirements Texas had for joining the union in the first place.

    Too awesome!

Although there is a downside to gun ownership in Texas and, I'd imagine, most states. My niece was standing at a fence, petting a horse once. Some Texas biddy was driving by, held a gun out the window of her truck, and fired off a shot. It appeared she intended to spook the horse, which she succeeded in doing. Such a dick move that fortunately did not have a tragic ending.

If you don't know how--or don't care--to use a gun responsibly, take a pass. You just make the rest of us look bad.

Some people are just a-holes, I guess. I have neighbors with horses, and I never discharge a firearm without making sure their horses are either in the barn or on the far side of their property.

In Texas, where so many people own horses and even depend on them for ranching purposes, you would think respect for them was inbred. She must have been a liberal.

Texans tend to have this fiercely independent, damn-the-torpedoes mentality toward certain things. There are situations where it's the best response needed, but of course not in all situations.
