(CNN) -- An elected county judge in Texas is warning
that the nation could descend into civil war if President Barack Obama
is re-elected, and is calling for a trained, well-equipped force to
battle the United Nations troops he says Obama would bring in.

The comments by Lubbock County Judge Tom Head, who oversees emergency planning efforts, were broadcast by CNN affiliate KJTV. He made similar remarks on radio station FOX Talk 950.

Obama, Head said, will
"try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United
Nations. What do you think the public's going to do when that happens?
We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly
civil war ... I'm not talking just talking riots here and there. I'm
talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms, get rid of the dictator. OK,
what do you think he is going to do when that happens? He is going to
call in the U.N. troops, personnel carriers, tanks and whatever."

Head vowed to personally
stand "in front of their personnel carriers and say, 'You're not coming
in here.' And I've asked the sheriff. I said, 'Are you going to back me
on this?' And he said, 'Yeah, I'm going to back you.' Well, I don't want
a bunch of rookies back there who have no training and little
equipment. I want seasoned veteran people who are trained that have got
equipment. And even then, you know we may have two or three hundred
deputies facing maybe a thousand U.N. troops. We may have to call out
the militia."

If statists of one stripe or other keep trying to own other human beings through continued dependency schemes, it's virtually guaranteed. Most people--the overwhelming majority of Americans--just want to be left the hell alone. When repubs/dems keep insisting that we don't have the right to be left the hell alone, it's only a matter of time.

"Get the hell out of my life!" Respect those seven words and there shouldn't be a problem. Ignore them and war is not only a surefire result, it is the ONLY result.

Memorize that phrase, liberals. Memorize that phrase, conservatives. Respecting it is the difference between post-apocalyptic America and a nation which lives and thrives in peace.

There are people all around me who think a "peaceful' demonstration will not be covered by the media; and think violence is the only thing Washington or the main stream media covers. Americans are tired of the status of OUR country and will revolt if we don’t see an immediate change in the status quo. More of main stream America thinks OUR government is in the pockets of their corporate backers, and don't care about the opinions of the American people. WE the people made America great. It will take WE the people to fight to fix OUR government. This Texas judge is just voicing the voice of his people. I'm just glad he had the guts to put himself out there. (Before I get 100 hits, I'm not looking for a war, just OUR government to take U.S. seriously.)

The issue is really not that complicated.

The judge wants to raise taxes in Lubbock. How does an anti-tax Republican raise taxes on his Republican constituents and get away with it? Invent a foe or doomsday scenario to scare and unite people, they will empty their pockets for you.

MONEY is behind this, nothing else.

That's not an opinion, that's fact. Judge Head is asking the citizens of Lubbock for a 1.7% tax increase, and he's using the scenario of a "UN invasion" to justify it. He says he wants to hire several new police officers, in addition to giving himself a raise and some other stuff.

If they fall for it, they deserve to have their pockets picked.

Yeah, yeah, I hear revolution talk all the time on SH and right wing blog sites. The night Obama wins his second term, I'll make popcorn and settle in to watch the show. It will be fun seeing those keyboard Rambos get killed on the spot or arrested and executed later for treason. It would make a GREAT reality show! My hunch is NOTHING will happen.

If you have such a problem living with democracy, perhaps you should move to a communist country instead? We still have a few.

I don't have a problem with democracy. True democracy. How many freedoms are you willing to give up for Obama-nation? We tried peaceful demonstrations’ and the media lied about the cause. America is turning into a communist country, so I’ll stay right here thanks. Even our Seals are ‘outing” the Obama administration. Why is Obama using his office to hide “Fast and Furious? How many Americans have to die on Obama’s watch before liberals take notice? Since 9/11, 88,725 American civilians were MURDERED by illegal aliens! Obama just gave amnesty to almost 2 million illegal’s. Who’s ’side are you on?

Get a grip, you sound like you're coming unhinged.

You never cared about losing your freedoms when George Bush was taking them away, with illegal wire tapping and the Patriot Act and outing CIA agent Valerie Plame to cover his administrations lies about the Iraq War and claiming executive privilege dozens of times to keep documents secret and putting local schools under the direction and control of the federal government with No Child Left Behind and expanding the nanny state with a trillion dollar Medicare expansion bill that wasn't paid for, to name just a few.

You're sudden concern for American freedom is 8 years and trillions of dollars too late.

I don’t think voting for OUR president is a laughing issue. You’re assuming I voted for Bush. I did not vote for either Bush, or Regan. I don’t vote party; I vote for who I think is best for America. I don’t vote for anyone with just one issue in mind, and I don’t take the word of our media, since they are proven liars. I research their past record, then watch and listen to the debates to see which one is the biggest liar, and vote for the one I believe will improve our country.

P.S. The U.S is far from a "communist" country. The right wing talking point is Obama wants to make the US into a European-like socialist state, not a communist one. Google the difference between communism and socialism before you go any further.

And Obama is our democratically elected President. Anyone who tries to overthrow a democratically elected government is committing treason and is an enemy of the state, and that would include you.

You used the word communist, I was just replying to what you said in your post. OK, so maybe Michelle isn’t telling Americans how to feed their children, and maybe the governor of New York didn’t ban large soft drinks or tell woman to start breast feeding before he threatened to hide baby formula. Maybe I like my Bible and if I had a gun, Obama would NOT be able to take it away. Just more media hype, right?.

Yes. Obama has done nothing to take your gun away, he has shown absolutely no interest in guns. That is right wing hype.

In fact, gun laws have been EXPANDED under Obama. Obama signed a bill allowing people to carry guns in state parks. Good idea, since there are a lot of wild animals in state parks.

So yeah, the whole gun thing is right wing media hype.

Michelle is PROMOTING health eating, do it or not, up to you.

The governor of New York bans extra-large soft drinks, many Republican governors have legislated that women have a ultrasound wand stuck up their wazoos against their will. BOTH are an infringement on our freedoms, but the soft drink thing is a lot less embarrassing.

LOL. Ok, you have me laughing :) Ultrasounds don't go up a woman’s wazoo. The doctor puts a jell on your stomach, then use paddles to measure sound; which shows a picture of any mass which shouldn’t be there. Why would they do ultrasound with a wand up a woman’s wazoo? Never heard of that, but research is just a click away:)

The Republican governors have legislated TRANS VAGINAL ultrasounds. That is the wand going up the wazoo. I'm surprised you don't know about this, but the right wing media doesn't broadcast it. The reality is just a click away, google it.

I will, thank you:) I wonder if it's as bad as a pap smear? Ouch!!
Ok, Medline says it’s a painless procedure to check for cysts and other female problems. You are correct, it did pass the Virginia house, but not without a lot of debate. The reason was to check the term of a fetus for women who want an abortion..

It's invasive and constitutes government sanctioned rape. Anything going into a woman's vagina without her wanting it there is rape. The reason does not justify the procedure, the government has no business in my vagina.

I'll put up with the soda thing any day instead (but that's stupid too).

I had a TV ultrasound once to check for an ovarian cyst. It took a LONG time, close to 30 minutes, but is painless (unless one has a full bladder).

What surprises me is how many who lean right--conservatives, Republicans, whatever--don't know about many of the things that Republican legislatures are doing to infringe on our freedoms. I think it's because the right wing media doesn't talk about them, they don't want to bring it to your attention. They keep those on the right distracted with the birth certificate issue and all sorts of other nonsense while they legislate government into our lives just as much as the left does.

I was blogging with a conservative on another question who had absolutely no idea that Paul Ryan and 40 other Republican senators support a personhood amendment that will outlaw abortion nationally under any and all circumstances (that's what's scary) and also outlaw many forms of birth control like IUDs and birth control pills. It would make taking birth control pills a criminal offense.

Your husband taking away your BC is a personal issue; the government taking it away and criminalizing it's use is quite another. Yet so many conservative women have no idea this amendment is floating in the wings. That is why it's so important the Republicans take the Senate in addition to the presidency, they must hold the house, senate and the executive office to get such an amendment passed into law. That is why it's so important the Republicans take the Senate in addition to the presidency, they must hold the house, senate and the executive office to get such an amendment passed into law. They are very verbal about needing to take the Senate to repeal Obamacare, but they are very low key about their support of the personhood amendment, because they know women would be less likely to support it.

That's why the Republican leaders want Todd Akin to drop out of the race, they want a Republican--any Republican--to win that Senate seat, they need the vote. And they don't think Akin can now that he's shown his true colors.

By the way, my husband, also a Dem, walked out on me at a restaurant when I told him I didn't want to have more children (I already was raising a son from a previous marriage). Yep, left me sitting there all on my own, didn't come back. We have two gorgeous girls now. But I remind him of that incident whenever he complains about our family expenses. Works every time. LOL!

Americans are forgetting their local votes count and don't take the time to research the bills they have signed or fought for. Americans have to vote out the state senators they don’t believe in. They have to (peacefully) confront them in front of other constituents to show them they are accountable. Other wise nothing will change. Good for you!!

I know exactly where he got that information---Obama has lots of plans in his future if he gets elected. Get the book "Fool me Twice" by Aaron Klein and Brenda Elliott from the library and read it. Even if half of what they say Obama's plans are gets implemented by the Democrats----this country is down the drain. I think this will be our last chance to stop the "progressive socialists". I think if Obama is elected, I will hope for our government to go bankrupt. That might stop him. A deep depression will be hard on everyone, but not as bad as being government owned.

Well, just another teabagger wacko. Are all these people crazy, or racist, or both?? Another teabagger, Ted Cruz running for the U.S. Senate, believes the U.N. will take away our golf courses. Who are the U.N. troops??? There is no such thing as U.N. troops. But there are other nations when called for by the U.N. when the Security Council votes to use them. This happened in Korea, when U.S troops were being pushed right out of the country by North Korea, and China. Other countries under the U.N. banner came in and helped us. Again U.N. troops (other countries) helped us during the Gulf war against Iraq. So U.N. troops are not some sinister, mysterious, troops, out to take over the world.

When this nitwit judge asked the sheriff for help, I'm surprised that this sheriff wasn't rolling around on the ground laughing to hard to answer him. Maybe this sheriff is as nuts as the judge!!!!!
