Texas father beats man to death after catching him molesting his 4-year-old daughter in a horse barn. Is that the only sure-fire way to "rehabilitate" child molesters?

Yes, at least we are certain that this molester will NEVER hurt another child again. We have no problem putting down a rabid dog, he got what he deserved. BRAVO, to the father.... animated bravo

Don't underestimate the punitive power of a long prison sentence. I heard that prisoners who molest kids are targeted for constant bullying by the general population. If the molester went to prison he would probably be tortured and eventually killed in a much more painful and creative way than anything the child's father could do.

Beating a child molester to death is NOT the only option!!

I don't know what the hell is wrong will all you narrow-minded people in here that over 80% of you think this is the only way.

    Please, stop.

    Take a deep breath.

Now won't you *please* consider the alternatives:
    - Shotgun, rifle, handgun, crossbow, hatchet, knife...
    - Drowning (partially... repeated, or fully)
    - Run over (rinse, repeat), Dragging
    - Stoning, Bats, Clubs
    - Kill It With Fire, Steaming, Scalding, regional burning,
    - Torture / Adrenaline Shock
    - Freezing / Hyperthermia
    - Roasting / Hypothermia
    - Fall from great height
    - Repeated falls from lesser height
    - Falling into a vat of something foul
    - Electrical Shock
    - Induced cancers
    - Induced organ damage (e.g. blood bubbles, liver failure)
    - Poisoning (Fast: cyanide; Medium: glycol or ricin; Slow: trimethyl mercury)
    - Starvation, Dehydration, etc.
    - ....

How about a reality TV game show in which the molester is strapped into a rocket-powered roller coaster and propelled into a lawless territory where the producers of the show have arranged for some very strong people with anger management issues to finish him off?

    Like this:

Nah, I don't like that idea. Why should we put ordinary criminals at risk of harm? Just put down the child molester and don't make a major production (ha-ha) out of it.

It's not about rehabilitating the molester, it's about justice for the child.

There is no way to rehabilitate these people. I dare anyone who says it's possible to cure these sick bastards to have one of these guys babysit their kids after he is supposedly rehabilitated..

But frankly, from the evidence in the article, we only have the Fathers word. It says there were other people in the barn, so what did they see, hear? What did the medical exam determine?

This is touchy, but what does a mama bear do when anyone gets close to her cub. It was a fatherly instinct that got out of hand, but can anyone blame him?

I dont agree with murder, but i do not blame this man one bit for what he did, just goes to show the strength of the love a father has for his children.

Those sick twisted perverted mfr's have absolutely no right whatsoever to live. That is something their victims carry with them for the rest of their lives and the court will give them four years in jail so they have to wait four years to do it again.

Though I'm not in favor of vigilante justice, that is one child molester who will not hurt another child. I can also see the father's point of view: He sees a monster hurting his little girl and goes berserk. I think most fathers might.

IT is a God given right not to mention a human right to protect your child, although children are thought to be less then human these days. You did get the molesters diagnosis right though.

Hope your never in his position, you might get a better understanding then. Irrelevant? how? where do you think our rights come from? the "thin air of "oh sounds good to me"? has to have a foundation from somewhere, not the 4th or 7th floor, foundation.
