Teen Youth/Booth Camps are ABUSE.

I didn’t even know what I was getting into when I started looking
up teen/youth “boot camps”. I was looking up the history of abuse so inhumane
that it’s rightfully comparable to being locked in a torture institution. They
ARE torture institutions.

This only touches the iceberg. It’s horrifying.

I was originally linked to the original shout-out on REDDIT, which
you can read here:

One commenter made this note: “Academy
at Swift River -- Aspen Education Group, owned by Bain capital. That's Mitt
Rooney's company; he owned part of aspen education group.

I double-checked this, of course. Yes, Mitt Romney owns Bain
Capital. Yes, Academy at Swift River is an abusive, private boot camp that advertises
itself as being “therapeutic” for “troubled teens”.The information is there. READ IT!

This stuff is HORRIFYING.

I thought it was a sick joke, at first, but this shit is real. FOR
real. Oh my god.

Look at this list. Find some in your state. Look them up yourself. Look for petitions. See
if there are any local bills being sponsored to regulate or shut them down,
and support them. Learn how these work and operate, and please
help commit to stopping them.

This is about the most horrible, vile, gut-wrenching thing I’ve read in years. You don’t believe it’s real
until it’s right in your face.

I didn’t think this was real. I thought it was the stuff of
nightmares and dystopian novels. But they’re here. Right in the USA. Please
share and pass this on to raise awareness, and post any links to petitions or
other information you may find.

I know I've already shown you this, but I'm gonna post this right here for others to see. This is a trailer for a documentary titled "Kidnapped for Christ." It's about a Christian boot camp/work camp in the Dominican Republic where American parents can arrange to ship their "troubled" kids (some of whom are sent there solely for being gay). It's infuriating.
If I recall correctly, there are petitions and whatnot available online to get this camp shut down, if it isn't already.

I'm surprised to get this reaction from you.

Have you even READ the information I put out here?

This is torture that would give Guatanamo Bay a run for its money.

It's more like a concentration camp than a boot camp.

Methinks they didn't even bother to read the articles, because there's no way what goes on in those camps is in any way justifiable.

    Ugh.

So all they see is "boot camp!" and think "Lazy teenagers, they deserve it!"

Well it depends really. If teens/youths would learn to get their attitude in check and not be a-holes, or wasting their lives, they could avoid having a boot camp as a last resort to frustrated parents. Hopefully the suffering gives them appreciation for the freedom they have.

Abusive teen youth camps news is old. It works in theory but then they give control of the boot camps to psychotics. Parents end up with dead children instead of reformed children.
If there were more responsible parents & more schools based on principals close the Montessori method things might be better. If I see a petition against abusive teen boot camps I will sign it.

That's true there hasn't been a big case in the news for while. Some places have created new laws or at least new license requirements on children's camps since the deaths.

It's still a big issue. I'm reading anecdotes from kids who were there as recently as 2009 (and spoke up about it.)
